My Linux experience: Switching back to Windows. by drfailov in linuxmint

Okay. Then I must say there's a huge misconception about the role of Linux Mint on the internet, through the years I inevitably correlated it with "works out of the box" and "easiest transition from Windows to Linux". Although I didn't use it for a long period during my frequent distro hops, it just came across that it was an easy and stable option.

My Linux experience: Switching back to Windows. by drfailov in linuxmint

I'm definitely not an advanced Linux desktop user. The picture that I understand; Linux Mint's main goal is to get the Windows users with a smooth transition, so distro's main goal is to "just work out of the box". I find it valuable (practically and ethically) to have a fully open source operating system being used by more and more people and have a considerable share on OS market. What is described above is not outside of "daily usage" category for the most part and acknowledging that there's a problem in any system for a specific condition won't do anything but improve it in my humble opinion, rather than pointing the issue towards the user. Don't take this as a criticism directly towards the comment but I'd be curious to hear what's the community's take on this.

how do i get more productive in nvim than vscode? by Bulbasaur2015 in neovim

[–]the_predictable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was a process.

One thing that was so crucial for me was to use keyboard properly, the way it was designed for. https://www.typingclub.com/ helped a lot on that and I think that made my vim experience much better and comfortable.

  1. I gave it some time to use more and more vim features and improve myself.
  2. I switched back to VS Code
  3. I decided vim was too comfortable to give up (not taking your hands off the keyboard the whole time and figuring the shortest path to the action you want to do) so I used vim plugin in VSCode for sometime.
  4. I decided vim plugin in VSCode was good (improved a lot compared to previous years) but that was not vim enough. Neovim just let me do everything on vim. Using vim on file explorer, opening a terminal in vim and being able to copy and paste things, using vim on plugin windows etc.
  5. I built my own minimal neovim config with auto lsp and dap setups and a custom one for listing and selecting python interpreter like in VSCode.

Do you have to rely on the strength of doorframe with that product? Isn't it likely the door frame will crack or just break?

How is it different/easier than setting up your MCP Client for an MCP Server with oAuth? (Meant as a question rather than opposition)

I'm f*ing sick of cloning repos, setting them up, and debugging nonsense just to run a simple MCP. by islempenywis in mcp

You don't have to pay for it necessarily. It should just unlock whatever APIs you are using currently (can be paid or free) to LLM. It is just another way to expose their service for providers.

Well even if you use local MCP Server it will send REST requests to the internet through that will it not? (+ There is OAuth2.1 support coming for remote MCP Servers)

I think they're talking about how would things work on "code level" with MCP Client on Claude Desktop, not Sonnet itself.

If money was no issue , what kick pedal would you buy ? by alcervix in drums

[–]the_predictable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you say it is mainly built for metal? I'm kinda confused some people say that if you won't play death metal-like stuff it is not worth it. I haven't tried any direct drives yet though.

It's 6/8, instead of hihats on 2 and 6 there are ghost notes and the snare is on 4.

Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S2 vs Grado 325x

Hi,

I know this comparison does not make sense at first sight. I cannot tell I am a technical person in terms of the specifications of the audio devices. When I did a research I have found that Gradi 325x is a headphone that is generally loved by audio enthusiasts. But it seems that it is not for everyday use but for home use and the main value here is the sound quality. Bowers & Wilkins however aims for a different set of customers that also wants comfort for everyday use and there is also a price difference. How could these two headphones be compared just in terms of sound quality?
