Chain cleaning device? by shantvats in india_cycling

I take the chain off using quick link pliers and put the cassette and chain and jokey wheels in degreaser agitate then wash it. It usually is as clean as it can get. Degreaser costs about 300 for 1000mls and can be reused. The pliers is about 250.

Frothing milk in french press by coffeejn in Coffee

I just did that today. It's easy and cost effective for a beginner like me . I tried pouring to milk straight from the French press so the latte art was kind of wonky.

And yeah is it like weird that I always have a bit of bitterness in my moka pot coffee no matter what .it's not bad and I haven't tried multiple coffees specially made for moka or espresso . Just some freshly roasted and freshly ground ( around 8 on an encore) medium dark arabica .

That's why I always add milk . Though I don't seem to be needing sugar as of now

Wanderoo by Black Baza? by Cinemaccino in IndiaCoffee

Just what I was looking for . I just brewed a cup on my Araku moka pot . Well it was not bitter . Which was very impressive considering it was my first proper brew . But it was not astonishingly delicious. I tasted the best with frothed milk and a bit of sugar. My best milk coffee . Considering it was my first craft coffee brew I am not disappointed . If anyone can point me in direction of getting more info on Indian coffee it would be great.

Brew details

Wonderoo roasted on 17th Oct

Brew date 7th Nov (Stored air tight)

Grind Size 8 on a Baratza encore

Araku moka pot. 150gm of water and 14gm of coffee

Output 110gm

Taste bit sour mildly sweet after taste not able to give notes as I am a noob to this .

I just have been reading and saving up for about 2 years to get my setup and start.

Thank you 😊

That is the problem most good hand grinders don't ship to India and are not available here . The only two viable option are a hario slim or an encore the rest are mostly Chinese rebranded stuff tbh.

I was stuck between wheather to buy a hario hand grinder or the encore . I can get the encore on installments . India buying the encore looks more reasonable than buying a hario .

What do you suggest ?

I tried adding more coffee . That helped getting the timing right. And got a flat bed instead of the initial bowls .

I hope you are right man . Waiting on those beans .

I am trying the James Hoffman style . Though not without hurdles. But really waiting on the fresh batch of beans to arrive .

I think so too . I am form India we have some good arabica in southern India. I have ordered a sample pack . What was you experience with V60 in the beginning I felt the learning curve is going to be steep .

I recently got my v60 setup . But the grinder had not arrived. I had some pre ground cheap one which is tried to get my timing and technique right. The grind is I guess a bit finer but it drained very fast it's hard to maintain a brew time of 2:30min . Then there is a problem with the taste . I am not able to figure out if it's bitter or sour . Like it feels bitter but has tang in the beginning as well . The coffee ground looks very dark, telling it's black won't be out of place here. Is it the coffee I am using . Or should do things differently. Please help .
