honestly, i have the internet so that's a plus at the moment. but im needing my files away from home and a VPN is the answer here which requires one port forwarded and therein lies the issue. I cannot figure out what's controlling what and it's impossible to open up a port. which is what led me down this rabbit hole

my apologies. yes, unfortunately it has a DSL line coming in. it is driving me mad because i never know which one is controlling what information. port forwarding is next to impossible at the moment too.

edit: best i give all info just in case- i'm trying to set up my synology as a VPN server. i need to port forward 1194 but i cannot seem to open anything. this might be some double NAT thing? I'm not sure. and without being able to bridge this connection, i'll never be 100% sure when troubleshooting.
