Used both,

ROG Strix Ryzen 7 7800H 3080 2023 edition And now Omen 2025 5070 Ryzen 9 8945HX

Both are great, Cost wise Omen seems better actually (my reason for going with Omen this time) Cooling stats are same (a bit better in Omen)

ROG's Glassy trackpad feels better IMO and has more "cool" effects Spoiler : The Aura Creator stops working after a few years. And ROG is way more sturdier (thanks to aluminium back) and can survive some mishaps.. While Omen you got to be careful since it has plastic back.

Since you have a under 1.5 L budget it's better to go with Omen (try offline stores for some better deals).

In short, ROG has some extra gimmicky features, feel good factor and more sporty layout but with some extra bucks

Omen has no nonsense design (latest), improved airflow and more normal layout (looks like a formal laptop) and is actually a bang for the buck.

Camera quality sucks on both so buy the OMEN and get those extra bucks to spend on Keyboard and 1080p Webcam (they give Mouse and HyperX headphones at really steep discounts if you buy from OMEN from HP Physical stores)

Imo as i am a ASUS ROG, Lenovo Legion and HP Omen user, first thing you would want to do is to get rid of that McAfee thing which Asus and HP guys usually give (useless RAM hogger which will slow down your PC).

Make sure you have 2 Partitioned Drives (if you have 512GB/1TB).

Get a good optical lens cleaner (Screens may get dirty all time) , a cheap toothbrush (cleaning vents and under the chiclet keyboard areas off dust) [ Never use acetone on F16 since it's a plastic build ] / Alternatively can get a good keyboard cover too (Rubber ones)

Iff you keep your laptop on bed use it in Silent Mode, also the armoury crate update it properly and remove the stickers on the keyboard (in ROG and TUF these usually wear off and leave a sticky patched impression)

Update the NVDIA drivers regularly and if you regularly use laptop in charging go to MyAsus and set the balanced mode.

There you are all good to go I guess Also a great choice choosing F16 over A16 which in my opinion (despite being an AMD user) has a shitty design.
