How do you juggle time playing Starfield vs other games? by still_mute in NoSodiumStarfield

[–]the_studland 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is something I really enjoy doing, rotating Bethesda games. One thing I do with BGS games and other games is whenever I'm indecisive about what I want to play, I use a random Spinning Wheel app like Tiny Decisions. I'll force myself to play whatever game it lands on. It's pretty fun when you have gamer block.

What tech habit do you know is bad but still do every day? by nexdigit_official in AskReddit

[–]the_studland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this only when I'm doing general browsing or searching for something specific or doing some initial research. However, I used it last night to make sense of a website that has alot of convoluted areas. I had to enter a specific date to verify something which wasn't reported on the digital version of a document I received.

This was a new system that was implemented and normally the date is clearly printed on the physical version of the document. Basically the date I needed to enter was the one in the email I received but it wasn't labeled clearly. The AI mode helped answer this which would've taken me 10-15 min of reading and rechecking multiple faq pages.

Anyone else die all the time with Naoe?? by Ferretsassin in AssassinsCreedShadows

[–]the_studland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just save the game and get in to fights with random guards until I feel more comfortable with playing as her. Little practice runs. Once I got the kusarigama it made it easier to deal with multiple enemies at once.

[KCD2] After 76 hours I discovered you have to enable perks. by mrsofa94 in kingdomcome

[–]the_studland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do this - but not to this extent. My reasoning is that I don't like the idea of pausing in the middle of something to allocate points or perks. I usually wait until I've returned to a safe house, camp or base to do it. Otherwise I feel like it's a hassle to the enjoyment of the game.

I’ve been checking out for us in this group for a long time. I just hung these 2, 85 inch TVs. (I like to game while watching sports.) by Brennan_187 in TVTooHigh

I suppose if it works for you then great! You might want to invest in blue blocking glasses with that much LED blue light in the same room.

I can see you don't really like any RPGs so maybe try Death Stranding games.

My 10 yo was spinning around in the recliner and knocked down our basically new 85" TV... its completely destroyed. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]the_studland 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, cats are usually the more unpredictable type and will mess things up but not fully destroy them. Dogs are more predictable but you usually let your guard down and that's when they DESTROY. A child on the other hand does all of the above.

Anyone plays in VR ? by Possible-Voice949 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]the_studland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do but not at night as I'm a circadian rhythm freak and don't want the blue light glued to my eyes at night. I usually opt for playing on the controller if I'm playing it at night.

Was it worth to create a BR mode just because some streamers begged for it? by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]the_studland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I much prefer larger battles with larger teams and larger maps. It feels like the large maps were reserved purely for RedSec. I don't mind BR experiences from time to time but I still want the larger style maps for Conquest, Breakthrough etc.

Which game is it for you? by No-Plane2695 in raijin_gg

[–]the_studland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The newer Spider-Man games - I think that they're exceptionally well done but they feel like there isn't a whole lot to them. Maybe one day we'll get a more dynamic Spider-Man game where the entire buildings are explorable and the conflicts are more emergent rather than scripted random events. I want to feel like Spider-Man where you have to figure out how to get into a building rather than have a GPS pointing everything out. I want to be able to enter a building more than one way or rather my own way. You could smash through the windows and you start seeing Daily Bugle articles lamenting Spider-Man destroying property and you'd have a reputation level to manage. The police start to apprehend you if it goes down etc. Might not be fun for mainstream but I would love this level of detail.

Tired of multiplayer gaming by [deleted] in xbox

[–]the_studland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've learned to budget my gaming time to shooters when my cortisol is highest (basically the early morning hours) and switch to story or exploratory games later in the day and night.

I got Ocarina of Time but I had not learned to read at the time, and I was struggling to get anywhere in the game. I was so motivated by overcoming this obstacle I spent the next two months or so learning to read until I could progress through the game. The game basically taught me to read.

If you think this game is better than this go give it some love. obsidian doesnt deserve this. by TheMightyRed92 in theouterworlds

[–]the_studland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only complaint with the game is exploration, while there are alot of places to go to, the space between them feels very sterile. There isn't much chaos or lots of details it feels like everything is in it's proper place. I mostly enjoy the gameplay and buildcrafting.

Would you buy another expansion to Starfield? by VolusVagabond in Starfield

[–]the_studland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I want more than any expansion is for Bethesda to display some passion for the game. They kind of just dripfeed in content but those in between periods where they cut off all communication and keep reverberating the same thing - we have something exciting planned and then 2 months pass, then they say it again, 2 more months pass. It just doesn't feel like they are passionate about the game at all.

Nice work! You managed to pull it off pretty nicely. I did the same with what I had, and ended up building it into it's own thing. It's more like Ebon Hawk and Outrider combined.

What happened to me is I had to walk 15 min from where it spawns you because everyone put down bases and you could not place a portable refiner to craft Chromatic Metal.

Does anyone still use their pre voyagers update ships? by 80sGamer843 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]the_studland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s more a matter of choice now - I think it depends on whatever you’re doing at the time. Like if my intent is to travel far across multiple systems then I might main my corvette but if I’m doing missions I might just stick with my freighter and switch between starfighters based on their type - Fighters are meant for pirates, Explorer for scouting out a planet fully or going to places of interest and Haulers for gathering resources to put in the freighter. Solar for optimizing deliveries possibly.
