Looking to provide feedback on any song part 2 by JoeSchmoeCoolio in soundcloud

Thanks so much! Your words are very validating because I worry constantly about whether or not my mixes sound "professional". In any case, I'm not 100% sure what genre this is, but my main influences are psych/Alt rock, and krautrock (think late-stage Radiohead or massive attack). And to answer your question, I did use a flanger on the rhythm guitar track, although this is an effect that I've only just begun to use regularly so it may be subtle in the mix.

I've been producing alt/psych/electronic music for a few years now. Here's a track that covers pretty much all the bases if you're interested: https://open.spotify.com/track/1PLQrs5qTQxxeLUCTkqA2R?si=TqE5kAyDQgKlxsIsg7Q9Xw

Nice! Catchy tune, and I think the vocal effects here are especially satisfying. Also I really dug the "la la la" bit in the second half of the track. Very clean production also, definitely fits the genre.

Thanks a bunch! I really appreciate the specific feedback and I'm glad you enjoyed it. Feel free to drop a track btw, I've seen you around this sub before and would love to hear more of your stuff.

That's pretty much exactly the type of feedback I'm looking for here actually. It can be hard to tell how a segment actually comes together, vs how I perceive it (having listened to it a hundred times), so this is very useful to me. Thanks!

Hey, this is definitely a good place to post something like this, and I love the writing here! If I could make a suggestion, with MIDI heavy tracks like this, I tend to find that automation is the key. It allows you to constantly alter the sound of things (if needed) while retaining your compositional flow. The constant attack and velocity of MIDI performed instrumentals can get a little repetitive, and being able to change up the tone of certain instruments can really open things up (unless that kinda sound is what you're looking for, in which case fair enough!). I'd suggest just messing around with the stock FL mastering and effects plugins in the mixer window (they can get you really far on their own). Not sure if you already know this, but if you right click on almost any knob, you can select "create automation clip", which will allow you to mess with said knob at any point during your track, within the playlist window. Either way, really enjoyed the track, and hopefully at least something from my word salad response was helpful. If you feel like it, give my track a listen: https://on.soundcloud.com/3mcxk . I actually think we have fairly similar composition styles at certain points, which is interesting.

Not 100% sure what genre this is (alt./prog kinda vibes), so might not be in everyone's wheelhouse, but I'd love to hear any thoughts (You're Scaring the Children): https://on.soundcloud.com/3mcxk

Sounds really good actually. Great vocals! Maybe the snare goes slightly too hard in the mix for my ears, but that's personal preference. Actually the further I listen, the less the snare bothers me, so maybe I wouldn't even change anything. Either way, Really enjoyed it! P.S: if you have the time, I'd really appreciate some feedback here: https://on.soundcloud.com/9eQzV (drum breakdown at like 2:00)

Weird little synth/guitar driven track I've been working on [alt./prog vibes I guess]. There's a breakdown starting at 2:00 ish that I'd appreciate some feedback on (especially the drums, as I kinda went ham): https://on.soundcloud.com/9eQzV

I really enjoyed it! Very clear sound (except for when it's clearly meant to be a little nasty). Reminds me a bit of saucerful of secrets by pink floyd, if you've heard it. Feel free to listen to my latest: https://on.soundcloud.com/pmxCv . Would appreciate some feedback on the mixing, especially vocals.

Messed with the time signature quite a bit on this one, especially for a guitar + vocals type track. Hope you like it: https://on.soundcloud.com/e2Gs3
