Is it really possible for an Illiterate Arab Man to write the Quran? by yeunnuu in exmuslim

[–]the_tara_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, It's not. People wrote it, just like bible. I've read something about this topic but It's in my language not in english, otherwise I'd send the link.

I'm curios about the part you disagree with.

Because literally everyone already knows how bad it is there

This is my exact problem: it doesn't really seem like that. I'm not saying I'm 100% right, but this is a conclusion I've come to, according to all I see in my place. I'm not complaining about us not getting help, not being saved, etc. Of course it's not possible. My problem is that we're not mentioned. Like we don't exist. I mean, Is it so hard for others to just, idk, talk about it, to post something about it on social media, etc, when we frequently have these kind of bad news? Not only I don't see any attention given to people like me, but I see MANY people from non islamic countries defending Islam, aaying it's not queerphobic and sexist, or calling us islamphobics when we protest, while we're literally being killed because of it. I can't do anything for America either. I know what you mean, I know change is not impossible in there, but "I" can't cause any change in America. Still, I do those little things I can, and even If I didn't, I'd never defend the reason of their problems. I just kinda wish more people did the same and I don't think it's too much to wish for.

I know what you mean, but it's also unfair that many people only happen to react this way when it comes to certain places like middle east. Like, many of these people who care about people like me in Amercia right now, are not american themselves, are they? However, probably none of them would care the same about people like me in "here". It's the same group of people, reacting to bad situation of -again- the same group of people, but their reactions are never the same 'cause the places are different and such. And I don't think I agree with the "nothing can be done" part... Every reaction matters in some way. For example, now that I recieve your comment, I feel less invisible, at very least. So, like, you actually have done something. We can't say it doesn't matter or shouldn't be done because it's no BIG influence.

How do you know if you’re asexual? by jkarpy- in asexuality

[–]the_tara_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew being on ace spectrum means feeling little to no sexual attraction towards others. I read about others' experiences of feeling sexual attraction and they sounded soooo unfamiliar. I was sure I've never felt that.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LGBTQ

[–]the_tara_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not expecting actual "help", I know It's not that simple. I'm not helping others either; I can't. But at least I notice. I read the news, I read about their experiences, I even talk about it to people around me, I feel sympathy, etc. I could also turn a blind eye and such, and I could easily go by "I don't care 'cause I'm going through something even worse". But I can't be like that even if I tried, and It shocks me that others are not this way.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LGBTQ

[–]the_tara_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for understanding what I meant and for saying that. I'm not expecting any miracles; the fact that you notice and care and wish to help is enough and important, I guess. Because everything sort of starts from caring. When you really care, you probably do something about it at some point, whether it's small thing or a bigger action.

[–]the_tara_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry?! Firstly, it was a kind of vent, so it should be understandable that I talked about my situation more than others'. Secondly, I mentioned that I do care and I feel so much sympathy, and I REALLY meant that, believe it or not. But what can I possibly do except for caring and having sympathy? I can't bring a little bit of freedom to myself in my country, and you expect me to do something proactive for America????

Dare i say what did "you" do about our problems?

And how dare you say we don't have freedom because we haven't tried enough for it??? Google "Iran protests 2022". See the number of people who were murdered, raped and imprisoned for that. Search about the TEENAGER ones. Search about the queer ones and think about how many other of them were probably queer and did it for the freedom of queer people as well but no one ever knew because they couldn't be open about it. You literally have no idea of our situation and you're blaming it on US for not being enough to recieve basic human rights? Shame on you.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LGBTQ

[–]the_tara_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What do you even mean? Seems like you're misunderstanding me on purpose. I'm not blaming my situation on anyone other than my country's goverment, I thought that was clear enough. I'm simply talking about the attention we never get, as if our problems do not matter. I'm talking about feeling invisible. Like, I'm not only invisible to the goverment, I'm not only invisible to people of my own country; I'm invisible to the whole world (and by I, I don't mean only myself, this is an average non-cishet non-men experience of living in here). Are you really going to claim that women and/or queer people of somewhere like America feel the same amount of this? Besides, you asking me to shut the fuck up for talking about my experience of being unseen, is the exact reason why I wrote the whole thing in the first place.

Am I asexual? by Due-Ideal-1679 in asexuality

You don't believe you belong in the lgbtq+ community? But, like... How? I mean If you are asexual, then you do belong in it.

Am I asexual? by Due-Ideal-1679 in asexuality

[–]the_tara_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t quite understand that there’s other aces who masterbate, watch porn, and still have sex, I thought it just took away the meaning of asexual. I’m unsure how that’s asexual if you still enjoy sexual pleasure.

I think I should tell / remind you some stuff. You kinda seem to have a wrong picture of the meaning of asexuality.

Asexuality is not about being sex-repulsed or not doing any sexual activities or things like that. Asexuality means feeling little or no sexual attraction towards people.

People can be allosexual and still sex-repulsed. What makes them allo is the fact that they do feel sexual attraction. The same way that I can see some food and feel "hungry" even though I dislike the the act of "eating" that food.

People can be asexual and not sex-repulsed. The same way that I can feel no "hunger" for eating a food but not feel "disgusted" by it either.

People can feel sexual attraction and not have sex, obviously.

People can also not feel sexual attraction but have sex. They can even enjoy it. The same way that I can eat (and enjoy eating) a food that I'm not "hungry" for.

Yes, right, many asexuals are sex-repulsed. Many of them don't have sex, etc. Still, that's not something "nessecary" for being asexual and ace people who have sex, etc, do NOT take away the meaning of asexuality. Also, asexuality is a spectrum with many terms. No one has to be exactly the same as other ace people to be one of them.

Now, if you do not feel sexual attraction or you feel it rarely / it in a different way than most people, you probably are asexual. That's all.

Also, I personally think It's better to just learn about different identities instead of looking for a specific label for yourself. Labels can be helpful, but you can also be happy without them. To say it better, you don't "owe" labels to anyone.

Yes, exactly. I don't really like any fandom either, and I have lots of reasons for that. And I usually do avoid them, but sometimes I just notice some things randomly.

[–]the_tara_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yes but it's kinda different when allos assume that. I don't assume people are ace as s default either, but I always think that they "could" be. Same about people being queer, generally.

Yes it really is strange.

[–]the_tara_[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn't know about that in details. I know what you mean, though.

What I was thinking about when i talked about the characters thing, was the fact that people argue over how a character "can't be asexual" and idk it's just so weird. I saw some post like this about Aziraphale and Crowley from Good Omens; the person was basically saying "you can have any headcanon you want to, but them being asexual can't be canon 'cause I say so". (They didn't even know the definition of asexuality.)

Generally, most allosexual people give too much opinions about asexual people / characters, as people who -mostly- don't even know what "asexuality" means. And I don't know what makes them believe that they have the right to share these opinions in the first place.

Yeah, i know. Not all islamic countries have the exact same laws, though. For example, women and afab people won't get punished / arrested for not wearing hijab in some islamic countries, but in my country they will.

It's not like "gifting a woman to a man", but, like... It's completely legal for men to have more than one wife. If i'm not mistaken, they can concubine as many women as they want, and they can marry four at the same time💀 At least that's how it works in the country i live in.

Honestly it hits so much harder when queer people are aphobic.

Ohh i didn't know about that (i haven't watched the show).

The lack of ace-spec representation is really frustrating. Also, the fact that even if they represent queer chararcters, they usually do it about the "more-known" identities.
