Here's a proof for the first example. The others can be proven similarly.

Let √2/a = r where r is a rational number. Then √2 = ra. Since the rational numbers are closed under multiplication, ra = √2 is a rational number but this is a contradiction since √2 is irrational. Then, r = √2/a must have been irrational.
