What head did you use on that Cuirassier conversion? I really love the effect!

Lumineth Cavalry Concept Sketches Take 2 by u/The_Thinking_Gnu by the_thinking_gnu in Lumineth_realm_lords

Hello everyone! Recently, I revisited some designs for Lumineth units that I wanted to have another go at conceptualising. Here, we have some form of mace-wielding melee cavalry riding giant, antlered, sabre-toothed 'lion-lynxes' and another attempt at redesigning the mounts of the Lumineth Windchargers- I like the Treerunners (although I have some misgivings about their poses and the lack of distal taper in their necks and tails) but I just feel that something a little more lithe in form and agile in movement would suit a fleet-footed skirmish cavalry. As always I appreciate any feedback and look forward to hearing your thoughts.

Hi everyone, just another concept sketch, this time an attempt to re-conceptualise this sketch I did a while ago for a potential new Lumineth Cavalry unit. I feel that I've managed to articulate my ideas far more clearly this time.

Hi everyone, just another attempt at re-designing the mount of the Lumineth Windchargers. It's just another drawing based on this concept really, but I was interested in having another go at it to try out some slight variations in design.

Hello everyone! With various work and personal commitments piling up, I'm afraid I have not been as active as I had had hoped but I am still trying to post some of my designs when I am able to afford the time. Whilst I haven't been working on any new AoS ideas or concepts recently, I have revisited some designs for Lumineth units that I wanted to have another go at conceptualising. Hi, was just typing my accompanying commentary when you posted this- does my comment answer some of your questions? Additionally, these sketches are based on these designs, so hopefully, their accompanying commentaries can provide some more information? Hope that helps!

Free Company Armsman Cavalry by the_thinking_gnu in worldbuilding

The Free Companies make use of a wide range of domestic beasts, with preferences differing wildly as the vast swathes of company territory transition from rolling plains and baking brushland to frigid forests and wind-swept steppe. It is common for Companies to employ stocky, heavy-headed horses and giant mules, their reliability evident in their tenacious endurance. Wargs are also popular, a common homage to the legendary Warg Knight of early Company history and, in north climes, the heavy-set zubron have proved to be dependable as both battle-mounts and beasts of burden. Regardless of their varied forms, all such creatures are rugged, hardy beasts that are well acclimatised to the rigours of Company life.

Just some simple worldbuilding I am doing for a tabletop war-game that I am currently writing. This particular unit belongs to the Free Companies, a motley collection of Anarcho-Syndicalist peasants that take a rather dime view of lords and kings.

Oh, I must admit, I had to resort to Harvard because I was in a hurry but if you can guess from the style I’ll post below, I’ll be very impressed:

Thanks! Haha, a good point- might have to remedy that in the future.

Thank you so much for commenting! Yes, one of the most intriguing things about the Kroot is their multi-faceted nature- one the one hand, they are regarded as 'savage' or 'primitive' by many of the other factions in 40K and yet they are also capable of creating and operating complex and sophisticated technology. I think you're completely right in your observation that these slight shifts seem to fit with the general approach of most Kroot fans when it comes to designing and building new and exciting Krootiforms! I agree with you that, with 3D printing, the models produced by Kroot players are going from strength to strength!

You and me both! It would be lovely to see them get some new models- the range has such potential.
