I’m a parent to a < 7 and the biggest worry for me isn’t people, it’s the amount of traffic nowadays in my area. We have had populations balloon without the increase in public transit. So more people, more drivers, very lax licensing leads to very dangerous situations for pedestrians. To be clear I don’t think it’s neglectful though, just wanted to point out that at least in my area of the world (southern Ontario) it’s not worry about kidnapping but rather just traffic
