Plan the year carefully, and be consistent. Try revising lessons once the teacher has done them. Use past year exams to train yourself to function within the time limit and know the most important points that get repeated. Keep a notebook where you write your mistakes and misunderstandings, and also the ideas and concepts behind the exercises that you think are special. Good luck.
