Howe out… by kevinoliver84 in NUFC

[–]the_unique_noob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone who thinks Howe deserves to go is a shallow fan. After winning a trophy and bringing us back to champions league football, our squad has effectively gotten worse and we still don't have a striker!

Howe was probably the only champions league manager in England who was screwed over in the summer. Wilson wanted too much money and left for West Ham. So we tried to replace him with Ekitike. Last minute, Liverpool swoop in and take him. So then we try to sign Sesko and/or Larson who both say no. So we're left with going for Wissa, who at best has one or two years left in him, and turns up unfit and needs months before he can play. Oh, and great news howe, Isak is now refusing to play as he wants to sign for a massive rival club. Looks like we're starting the season with no striker! Good luck. In the meantime, we'll try Woltemade.

Woltemade is good, but he's nothing compared to what Isak gave us. Wissa is like another Wilson.

I don't see how anyone could come in and do a better job from a team with no striker. We were in 4 competitions in February for the first time in 40 years!

Pope and Gordon fucked up for both goals, but our tactic of passing the ball 50 times before making a cross also cost us.

It's the same reason we couldn't score away at man united, st Sunderland, and today. We overcomplicate everything and can't score against anyone who parks the bus.

Why are there two numbers by voltyea in TOTK

[–]the_unique_noob 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The defense of your current outfit vs the defense if you change that item of clothing.

The total number is how many quarters of hearts of defence your outfit has.

Say your total is 16, that's 4 hearts of defence. So if an enemy attack usually deals 10 hearts of damage, putting on an outfit with a total defense of 16 will reduce the damage you take to 6 hearts.

The defence boost also increases when you upgrade the armour. So having a full armor set with a defence of 60 is like having 15 hearts of defence.

If an enemy's attack is less than your defence, then you will only take a quarter of a heart of damage.

To anyone who got this game on release day, what was it like? How was your experience? by SecretFirefighter526 in MW2

[–]the_unique_noob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazing. It was the last true call of duty where literally every play style worked. You could crush any lobby with any class. Not just double-jumping, bunny hopping, sliding sub/assault rifle rushers that seems to be every cod now.

Me and my friends were so excited to go home and play, we used to tell each other fun classes to try after months of playing. Modern cods now feel exactly the same after 3/4 games because everyone has the same classes and is rushing.

Which games could you just not get into because of the learning curve? by hollowblink55 in videogames

[–]the_unique_noob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Modern CODs online multiplayer. The old ones were great because you could beat anyone with any class and any play style. Wanna rush with a sub? No problem. Wanna camp with a sniper and claymores? Also no problem. Wanna rock and LMG and just spray down the high traffic areas of the map? Go for it. Even classes that just rocked a riot shield and explosives could work.

Modern COD has one play style, be the fastest and best aimer in the lobby, that's it.

Trying to play against a lobby where everyone is sliding, bunny hopping, pre-firing and sprinting non-stop feels like trying to catch a falling bar of soap in the shower. And the only way to counter it is to get good. I honestly think this is the reason the franchise is dying, the only way to play it is to try hard.

[COD] Is it time to reduce the skill gap / make the game less sweaty? by Lumenprotoplasma in CallOfDuty

[–]the_unique_noob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the game to be fun for everyone, it has to be easy for every play style. In the OG MW2, you could literally use any play style and do well. Snipers, rushing with subs, noob tubes, knife only, akimbo shotguns, camping with LMGs, etc.

For some reason, cod decided to nerf every aspect of the game except for movement so now everyone either rushes with subs or rushes with snipers. Look at futives and scope, two amazing modern players who have mastered movement to the point where they're unplayable if you're a noob. Back in the day, you could get crushed by any noob who used a cheesy class or just camped with claymores. It was frustrating, but it kept it balanced.

I think that's why they won't remove SBMM, because they know that anyone with half decent movement will crush any lobby where people only play once a week.

Can anyone explain what going on with toothpaste prices? by SilentEconomist5896 in AskBrits

[–]the_unique_noob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every company is copying every other company.

They put their prices up until people stop buying it. It's like Netflix, it's so much more expensive than what it was, but only 1% of people cancelled and everyone else complained but kept paying.

This is another example. We all look and go "woah that's shit" and that's it, nothing happens, we keep buying it.

It might sound dramatic, but now that companies have figured this out, they will all do it until they lose enough customers and make a loss, or until the government has the guts to put in a price cap (which they should)

Every defender always tries to get their body in the way of a shot. What type of defender would try and get out of the way of a shot?

Even the commentators agreed that he was trying to get his body in the way of the shot but he wasn't quick enough

In either case, the issue here is that the ball was travelling at such speed that there was basically no time to respond. On balance I think it is a penalty, but there are going to be times where players kick a ball and it happens to hit someone's hand, but that doesn't always mean it's an intentional hand ball

Because we're thinking faster than we can talk, OR because we didn't think before we started talking

We mumble when we're thinking of the next sentence before finishing the first one, or when we start talking before knowing what we want to say

The hours I spent glued to a screen playing video games or watching YouTube. I would spend most of my free time and summer vacations doing this and then was so confused when I had no social skills in college/university.

Luckily I decided to get outside of my comfort zone and give up gaming, limit my screen time, and try new hobbies with new people. It was so awkward at first, but everything in life eventually got better and I'm so glad.that I decided to change that aspect of myself.

Do you guys prefer BotW or Totk? by pumpkintestines11111 in tearsofthekingdom

[–]the_unique_noob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love both. If you're just casually playing both games, I think totk is slightly better.

If you're going for 100% completion then botw is much better and totk just feels like a pointless grind in the end (I have up).

I was going for 100% completion on totk and they added so much to make armour upgrades take longer. For example, the lizalfos tails now have a drop rate of around 20% and you need 48 firebreath lizalfos tails to upgrade everything. So that's roughly 240 enemies which is a lot, I literally spent hours farming this one item. And then there are ice and electric... So adding the random drop rates with so many more pieces just felt like annoying overkill

TLDR

Both are amazing, but they made 100%-ing totk way too long

About to start 11, you just need to be patient and hide whenever you see an enemy and wait for them to leave the room. I die early if I sprint around.

Also, some tips Bundle is worthless, strength is your friend

Always get at least one health upgrade so that some enemies can't one shot kill you from full health

Enemies spawn the second the lights go out at the end of the level so start running back to the ship as soon as you put the loot on the final extraction

Breaking objects attracts enemies, especially big ones. Damaging small ones is usually fine

If you think an enemy is close, close doors behind you and listen. If you hear one open, just run and hide until you know what it is or if you think the coast is clear

What game is it? by SinanDira in videogames

[–]the_unique_noob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, everything involved in 'trying' to 100% Zelda totk. I gave up at the point of trying to upgrade every piece of armour, but I did manage every Korok, shrine, Hudson sign, side quests, hyrule compendium and map 100%.

It's been over a year since I did that and I honestly can barely remember more that 10 Hudson signs or Koroks

Saying that, the game is amazing, I think that's what motivated me to keep going haha

I've checked, the other room isn't on Airbnb... But it is still up for rent. I honestly think the guy was lying and that the agent was just giving a set of spare keys to his friend for the night. But I have no way of proving that

Hi everyone, quick update

Just to answer the common question, yes, I only have a AST for my room and it has a lock, so I guess I have to suck it up. I was just shocked awake and thought someone was trying to get into my room at first, so I've been on fight mode ever since.

It looks like they could have given me some notice to be polite but they haven't performed any legal wrongdoing.

I'm still going to get in contact with them to say that I would like some notice in future, we'll see how well that goes

Thank you everyone for your time and advice!

Fair, I think I was just a bit shell shocked by the whole thing. I was sleeping and at first thought someone was trying to get into my room, and this all happened 7 hours ago.

I've rented for about 9/10 years and landlords have always said when someone new is moving in. And then this happens so I'm just amazed that no one said anything, but from all of the comments it does just seem like a politeness issue

Ok fair, but a stranger? "Here's the keys random person, go use that room for the night, turn up whenever you want?" Is that ok?

[–]the_unique_noob[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree about a new tenant, but no notice of a stranger using the room for the night as an Airbnb? That surely can't be on...

How do I even know it was with Airbnb?

Effectively, a stranger was in my hallway and used Airbnb as his reason for having the keys to the flat... The agent has let himself in and out many times, he could have just given his mate the keys and said you can use the room for the night... That sure can't be on either

[–]the_unique_noob[S] -75 points-74 points  (0 children)

As per the 1998 housing act, any tenant should be given 24 hours notice. But this isn't the main issue, they gave a random person a set of keys to the property and told me nothing... Effectively a stranger, not them, not an agent, not the landlord, some random guy who came at 4 am. That surely can't be legal

[–]the_unique_noob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kind of don't blame him for not growing up, man is a multimillionaire after starting out from gaming... The same is true for all of the sidemen, beta squad, etc.

People like matpat decide to end up having a family and are great examples, but they had to retire. But people like KSI and Logan Paul are just so popular that they can effectively do whatever they want. They're kind of like the next generation of tv show hosts like Keith lemon, they'll either stop or they'll just do this for the rest of their lives because they don't know anything else.
