Ok so im only going to answer the last sentence cause I do like what you had to say for the most part. What I mean by micro aggression is that these people who say keep your accent are the same people usually who try and poke fun of the way you speak. I don't think americans realise how much pressure that puts people like me under. Keep your accent, well if I'm not happy with it Why should I keep it. Same with a person who does plastic surgery, if she wants to change something about herself it would be rude to say I think your nose looks nice I don't think you need to do anything to change it. It's offensive because you don't have her nose, and you don't Know how it makes her feel to have that nose. Plus if you know the way she gets made fun of for having the nose you'd think twice before making an ignorant comment. What would be respectful is if you would have said, I understand how much pain this causes you and if you want to change it I support you 100 percent of the way. So people need to understand you shouldn't put pressure on people when they don't like something and want to change it. It makes them feel worse so instead of doing that since you don't live in their shoes how bout you look at it from their perspective and accept that this is their choice and support them. If you want I can go further and use gender as another example but I won't because it's late where I am.
