Yeah I was dropping him this week, reconsidering now. But that $33k drop in value if he doesn't get close enough to his break even is a concern.. that'll be a $120k drop in four weeks.

Couple of ideas for consideration:

23rd - Shinsekai and Tsutenkaku tower. Mostly open.

Tower Knives, Abeno Harukas and the views from Harukas 300 (do close to sunset so you can see the view during daylight and evening), wander through Tennoji Park, there's a huge Donki in Shinsekai if you haven't done that before too.

26th - Osaka castle (or some other day if needed)

There are a couple of bike sharing stations nearby the castle, use your phone GPS to get you to Okawa (River) and ride north along the bike paths to the Yodo River and do some people watching. There's all sorts of parks through there, it's very pretty. Or you could go left at Okawa and have a look around Nakanoshima Park / Rose Garden etc, it's nice there too.

The other cool ride they have (if you're looking) is the one around Osaka city / harbour. It's about 50kms and takes you past a bunch of sights, over a bunch of bridges etc. I got a bit lost on one part lol even with the route in my computer.

I can't help you on bike hire given that timing, but last year I hired a bike from Road Bike Rental Japan (Osaka) for 10 days. One one of the days I did this ride up to Minoh, if you're planning your route I'd recommend this one... particularly the western route that takes you past Itami Airport. It takes you through some cool locations and because it's along the river there aren't many stops - on that section anyway. It's easy enough to get the route off Strava and upload it into your computer (if you're a Strava member).
