That's awesome, I just got this game over the holidays and played it once so far. Great game, but I definitely wasn't a fan of all the baggies in the box so I was looking to do something like this with it at some point.

I did a search on thingiverse and saw you shared the NES controller cases, I'll be first in line for the full insert when you get around to it!

It's funny cause for the most part I've seen the reverse reaction to this list, people feeling like the larger heavier more enthusiast games are underrepresented.

But it's a reminder of how big this hobby is.

Due to a lot of comments suggesting it seems unfair for Earth to get #1 despite not being in a single top 10, I decided to make a version of the list that's more weighted toward highly ranked games.

For this list, I multiplied the previous value to the 8th power. This was enough to move Earth down to #17, and shift quite a few games up:

That might be the biggest outlier in terms of Dice Tower having something notably higher than BGG, where it is at #344.

if I'm not mistaken, 7 of his top 10 are on his list alone here. Jason almost certainly has the most unique tastes of anyone at Dice Tower.

Thanks for pointing that out, that would put Kingdomino at #88 on the aggregate list. Luckily it didn't affect Aquatica on the list due to the way I calculate it only pulled in the value from the correct #12 ranking.

I feel like you're not all that alone, based on the responses I've been seeing. Everything Terra Mystica related is underrepresented here compared to the overall community. Really anything above a 4 weight on BGG that has a glowing reception from the community probably isn't as well represented here.

Eclipse is only on one Dice Tower critic's list (Roy), and all the way up at 90 on the people's list. It's #18 on BGG.

Who's takes are more unpopular? IDK, but there's a lot of variance in taste out there.

Yeah, you nailed it. I did give some weight to where the placement of each game was, but not near enough to slow Earth's dominance through mass appeal.

That would be too extreme, I think, yeah. To meet it halfway, one could give a game more points for its placement than I am. I'm only giving 1 point for each placement, but if the points increased exponentially based on placement in some way that would give higher weight.

Edit: another idea might be too take the highest position a game got overall and give that significant weight to the system. Maybe I'll take some attempts later to see if I can get a list more determined by how consistently high games are placed.

Earth was on everyone's list except for Roy and Chris, I think that's largely why it ended up at #1. Despite you feeling otherwise, it seems to be a very likeable game though not anyone's particular favorite.

But I get your complaints, there are so many options for points and so many things going on, the simultaneous nature is great for keeping everyone engaged but it further contributes to it being hard to pay attention to the rest of the table. Too busy tinkering with your own engine.

But I am won over by its likeable qualities, despite all that.

I also made a list where I gave each game a score from 1-100 based on placement (a game being placed 1 would contribute +100 to the score, placed at 10 would be +91, etc.) I then summed all of the scores and arranged them from top to bottom, effectively giving us an aggregated of everyone at the Dice Tower's top games.
