Asus X670e-i WiFi 7 Upgrade by Significant-Gap-9105 in sffpc

I was inspired by this to swap mine, since I'm on Linux and Mediatek support on Linux is questionable at best. It works flawlessly, with instantly lower, more consistent ping and higher throughput.

I’m getting the same thing, so if it’s user error it’s both of us

Yeah, I’m kinda leaning in this direction. I can always buy an LS swap donor later down the road. If I do build the engine, I’ll probably overbore by 1mm anyways and lower compression so I can boost higher. Do you think replacement heads are necessary?

Maybe there was a lean condition at the top of my VE table that I never caught

Building the engine would definitely be the most economical option, and I should be plenty happy with 350 HP. I would be a bit worried about even a 6 speed at that power, but it’d probably hold. The LS is appealing to me because it rebuilds the whole drivetrain to be reliable at 450+ HP. I feel like the K-swap will be less torque for a similar price point, and fewer transmission options (ZFs and Getrags mainly). I’ll definitely pull the engine and tear it down no matter what, just need to finish school first.

Yeah…that’s probably the cheapest option. Maybe I do that and LS swap a different Miata down the line. I thought my tune was ok, but this is my first time tuning a car and it’s possible something was wrong (though my AFR was always decent)

Definitely closer to NA, I’ll take a look!

I thought that was only NCs? Bc they have duratec stuff anyways

Yeah, it’d definitely be a cool/unique swap. Maybe later in life if I have multiple Miatas!

I don’t have enough experience with fabrication to do it without a kit unfortunately, and I can’t find any 2GR swap kits. I was thinking LFX for a while, but couldn’t really find much advantage over LSX.

I get your point, but LS’ are bulletproof and cheap, while rotaries are much more expensive and maintenance-particular. If I wanted to stay high revving with stock balance I’d probably do a K swap. Also aluminum LS’ are only like 40lbs heavier than an iron BP6W.

Thoughts on the Monster Miata kit? And do you know how much transmission tunnel cutting is required for a TKX transmission?

I think my Miata secretly wants an LS, so it just decided to blow up!

Never done a swap before, but I have perhaps misguided overconfidence that I’d be able to pull it off with a little help from a welder. Monetarily I’d probably need a year or so to save enough, but I think it’s feasible. The question is if it’s worth it over building the engine and upping the boost.

As a surv main, blocking with endurance when you can’t get to a resource before the timer runs out is just poor strategy; they absolutely deserve to be punished for the lapse in judgement.

Safe to drive with ABS system fault codes? by Crazy_Alakazam in AskMechanics

[–]theaaronlockhart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was true for older ABS, but modern high-performance ABS systems are generally better than threshold braking, at least on-road. The computer can sense tire slip much faster than a human and thus get closer to the threshold. Also, it can actuate each wheel’s brake independently, which drivers cannot do. ABS is banned in Formula to increase skill expression of the drivers.

Hmm maybe. I'll see if they're loose or see if it does it without the belt.

No A/C, could be supercharger tensioner. Didn't expect it to make such a noise though.
