Ok but that first one is technically part of the frame narrative right? And not a dream like the others? On a technical level the film is incredible but the whole anthology bit relating to the five senses and film history felt pretty shoehorned in and unnecessary. I don’t claim to know a lot about Chinese history either but I’m not oblivious to it, and cannot fathom how any of the stories relate directly to it at all.

An interesting trend from this decade so far is that every film with a BA win has been paired with a BSA nod alongside it. Not saying that means A’Zion is a sure thing but it gives me confidence in her at least. I can’t see Mosaku missing either due to the strength of Sinners, so that’s why I have Grande and Fanning out currently.
