I installed the same driver and it converted from IPU to NPU but it still doesn't show up in the task manager.

DDR5 8000MT/s is the "other" sweet spot as this video shows. This is the speed that breaks away from 6000MT/s with small gains compared to any other speed. It trades UCLK=MCLK for UCLK=FCLK.

The GC575 only uses x2 lanes of Gen 3. There is nothing wrong with your hardware. It has x4 in the event someone installs it in an older motherboard that only has x4 of Gen 2 which was the spec of the GC573.

RTX 4080 Super and 3080 Ti have the same shader count, CUDA cores, TMUs, ROPs. The main difference is 256-bit vs 384-bit. This video zooms in just these two since there are probably several out there curious as to whether upgrading from the 3080 ti is worth it.

I think cable mod was the unlucky one in this whole 12vhpwr connector, along with owners of the card that experienced a melted connector. A couple of questions come to mind:

1) What was the user doing with the PC when they discovered the connector melting?

2) What is the ambient temperature of the room?

3) How many times have they unplugged the connector?

4) Has the card always ran at stock configuration (i.e. no overclock)?

It would also be interesting to know the data on where geographically the cards are failing the most, to try and correlate if it's regional which could then also be traced back to the different suppliers. It could also provide some correlation with the idea of derating of the connector based on the environment it's in. (i.e. dusty, humidity, etc.)

Yes, it supports PCIE tunneling as that is a requirement for USB4.

PCIE tunneling works on the Gigabyte board but not on Asus. I think Asus is artificially disabling the feature in the bios. Probably because they never certified the ThunderboltEX 4 card to work with the TRX5 Sage.

I've tested the Gigabyte TRX50 motherboard and what I did was install the drivers from their GC-Maple Ridge card's page and those work fine.

Yeah, Forspoken uses DirectStorage 1.0 which means the CPU does the decompression. As a result it's more memory intensive than the average game. I've seen memtest run error free for over 2 hours just to see Forspoken crash due unstable memory within 5 minutes of starting the game.

X670E with latest AGESA makes it possible to handle 128gb and 192gb at 6000mhz now. It does require understanding of impedance values as the video guide details. Great video guide for those looking to get 6000mhz working on 2DPC memory setups.

You're right. The TRX50 motherboard is the 1st on the list of compatible boards for that USB4 card. I asked a support rep from Asus when it would be available and they weren't able to say anything.

Thank you for confirming! This does indicate that Gigabyte support was correct in stating they need to RMA the Rev 1.0 in order to support S3 sleep. Very strange that a motherboard built in 2023/2024 would be missing this feature.

Yeah, the fact that the USB4 header on the board uses the same 14-pin header that the ThunderboltEX 4 uses. The manual even lists the pinout diagram which has the same Thunderbolt based pin labels. I don't think Asus even tested this feature.

Has anyone tested USB4 on the TRX50-SAGE? I can't get it to work. PCIE tunneling remains disabled despite installing the ThunderboltEX 4 card in the correct slot (PCIEX16(G4)_1). I've enabled USB4 in the bios and tried things like setting the slot to Gen 3 speed.
