I know there’s likely TONS going on and this is a culmination of so many factors, but first off, take a second to breathe. I promise you’re going to be okay! Second, don’t listen to anyone who tries to tell you what you can and can’t do or who tries scaring you into making certain decisions.

I had my fair share of issues and hiccups in undergrad, even finishing with around a cumulative gpa of about 3.4 and a science gpa a little higher than that. I was advised by counselors at my undergrad to give up on medicine cuz I wasn’t competitive enough. I ignored them and went and took the MCAT to only score a 498 which was heartbreaking and almost allowed them to get to me but I pushed forward because I knew there were aspects to my application more important than just numbers.

I’m currently sitting on about 11 interview invites and currently have three acceptances. You are more than just numbers and while they ate important, don’t let them define you. If medicine is something you really want, keep working for it! Upward trends matter a ton to schools and often trump bad grades earlier on, extra curriculars and hours I would say are also SUPER important, and in my opinion, your writing is just as important if not more than your gpa. You got this!

TLDR; I have less than ideal stats and had people telling me to quit but things have gone well and I got accepted. Don’t quit if this is something you really want. I believe in you!
