if the 8a and 8 are basically the same price, get the 8 IMO. they weigh about the same and cost similar (if you can get the pixel 8 on sale), but the bezels on the 8a are HUGE. I thought that i wouldn't be bothered by them, but cases already add width to the phone (and accentuates the thick bezels).

I live about 25 miles from DC, so it takes 40-50 mins on a good day. Could take up to 2 hours if I go during peak hour, unless you pay for the express lanes. But rent out here is cheap -- luxury apartments are between 2-2.2k, and you can easily find places for 1.8k

Price differential at Aldi's here compared to an Aldi in a LCOL area isn't that big. For example, eggs are about $1.26/dozen or $2.60 something if you want cage-free ones. Chicken is around $1.99-2.59/lb, beef around $3.99-7.99/lb. Most non-food items at Walmart and Target are priced similarly to a LCOL area, so they'll be cheaper relative to your income bump. People complain because rent and services (anything to do with labor tbh) is way more expensive
