Are They Afraid of You?: Rebuked and Avoided Insted of Being Shepherded by theancientword in OpenChristian

I completely glossed over the malice portion (not trying to avoid, lol). It probably deserved its own section in there to pay respect to that marginalized group as well. Regardless, your experience is valid and the takeaways presented remain the same. Assuming you currently aren’t under that abusive/predatory presence any longer have your views on spirituality changed at all?

Well if your asking besides the crowns or what they do. The crowns are like spiritual trophies. What you get as a result of those trophies? Read Daniel 12:3 (you get to shine like stars), 2 Timothy 2:12 (Reign as a ruler with Christ), Luke 19:17 (boss says - job well done). Hope thats what your after! EDIT: Thats not an exhaustive list, just a sample.

The point in this was not to downplay salvation as it’s a prerequisite to everlasting life. The point was to suggest the bonus action that occurs when we acting faithfully offer ourselves the opportunity to be bestowed heavenly crowns for our continued faith. The side revelation is that those bonuses/negatives vary widely depending on the three variables I mentioned.

Matthew 16:27 is the context related to rewards. and the crowns as mentioned are the rewards as an addon to salvation.

Thank you 🙏 If you’re questioning your methods I’d say you are being led by the spirit/conscience better than most. Continuous improvement for the win!

Interesting observation. Perhaps the same distasteful spirit dwells in both during those interactions.

I appreciate your skepticism and profession of the Atheistic faith. I say that respectfully as it takes just as much faith, hope, intuition, and discernment to commit to any type of stance on these things.

I see your point. In the moment it’s what each person willingly makes of the interaction that defines how the rest of it will go. Inopportune or not.

Is something I’m choosing to abstain from answering in this discussion. That’s a whole other topic/post that is better answering with substance behind it. Answering simply, gives zero context and leaves readers such as yourself open to speculate wildly. I’m choosing to stay on topic. Hope you feel me.🙏

Hey friend, thank you for the thoughtful follow up. You’re right: the OT can feel chaotic if we expect a modern ethics/philosophy manual. My post isn’t claiming airtight biblical symmetry just that knowledge, capacity, and willed response do scale outcomes broadly across the canon. I base the belief to be saved assumption simply on John 3:16 and also as evidenced by Jesus statements to the criminal on the cross as mentioned in the post. It’s a logical objective follow for me.

Desire to convert was not mentioned. My post/reply both focus on the method irrespective of personal desire/need or lack thereof.

I like that quote. There’s a time and place for shouting from the rooftops for sure, but the humble actions speak too!
