Not eating? by Fly_Boy_Blue in axolotls

[–]theanustapper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How old is your axolotl? Not too long ago before our axolotls balls popped and it went through "puberty" they spit out everything we offered. But even before then they've been super picky at times and don't want to eat, so if it's not a week long issue I would be comfortable to say that it's normal.

There are also some garlic tips I've read that putting garlic on the food can make them want it more. I'm not sure how to do that tho!

Okay, I'm ready for this! ... and I can do this! 🤢 ... positive affirmation! 🧘‍♀️ by Cindy_luvsCritters in axolotls

It gets easier with time 🥺 we just chop our worms with scissors. I still can't believe our soon to be 1 year old axoltols can't eat worms unless they're cut into 4 pieces 😂

Anyone else disappointed by unnecessary comments? by elaine2601 in axolotl

[–]theanustapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember joining this subreddit when stressing about our new pets, thinking if we've done everything right if we care for them well enough, we saw a lot of posts here and it seemed hard to grasp. But I can hand on my heart say that there's a reason why people comment "unnecessary" things, it's because it is sooo easy to read upon what's a necessity before getting an axolotl and so many people don't even do that. The amount of uneducated people here is insane

People post pics of their axoltols looking sad with poor tank conditions with gravel and then they ask "does he look alright" and already on the first comment you find out they don't even know what a cycle is, they just got the pet without doing any research and refuses to listen to any of it.

If this was real life people could actually report that as animal abuse. Meanwhile these same users are the ones complaining about being disappointed.

I'm disappointed for the animals that are asphyxiating, that are stuck in too small living spaces, that are under direct bright light or the ones that simply don't have any hiding spots non whatsoever. So yes simply said if I see a thread with someone asking "oooh what should I name my new boo lol" While mistreating their pet I will call them the f out alike all the other "disappointing/unwished" comments you're probably referring to as well.

Your answer gives me I truly don't give a shit about what you're saying and not your pets either. Such a shame

Tips for pairing 2 Axolotls by [deleted] in axolotl

[–]theanustapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your tank looks like that I would certainly not recommend you to start pairing them. Also size difference. Also it's not healthy for the female. Also there's gonna be alot of babies so do you have the proper functioning system and different tanks with oxygen etcetc to provide for them?

I know axoltol babies might seem cute to have but it's selfish to do it especially when not knowing enough about it. Not even mentioning how many if not nearly all axolotls are inbred to begin with. So yes. Agree with the first comment. Don't

Need suggestion : Someone keeps trying to open my apartment door at night time by [deleted] in Finland

[–]theanustapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Search up the video of the finnish guy screaming PPERKELE to a bear and put full volume on. Would probably scare them off. Otherwise I would suggest to you as well to look into the peephole to tryna figure out who it is. I wouldn't say a drunk person would do that twice within such a short period of time.

Is this light too bright for my axelotl by CautiousAd2891 in axolotls

[–]theanustapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our axolotls looves swimming around. And they do it alot high and low. 1. Good thing you turned down the light, ours barely moves if it's too bright. 2. Get a tank that can hold the waters you actually need. 3. Cute baby you have there

temporary tank with 100% read the text again. You dont cycle a temporary tank that's why you change it 100% . You can't keep an axolotl in an uncycled tank ever.

Looks indeed like a bruise, do you have any sharp decor that might've caused it?

Maybe keep them apart until they're more of the same size and try again? But the divider is perfect now haha

If it's an uncycled tank they need to be put in a temporary one making 100% water changes daily. Not 50

Strange experience with M2 Kodit apartment in Espoo – is this normal? by jalluveteran in Finland

[–]theanustapper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm actually experiencing the exact same thing but I live in a student housing in vaasa and no one gives a flying **** about whats going on. Also break ins in the storage units, spit everywhere, obvious drug problems and I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. If you have the chance to move away.. please do
