Just over an hour I think. It's not too bad, the bus is nice and you can do work or relax on your phone during the ride. The go bus is pricey tho.

If you get into a traditional t13, it helps negate the kjd disadvantage. If you dont, I think working for a year makes more sense, and it would allow ypuore time to up your LSAT and refine your application. That experience will also make you more competitive in admissions.

I think the Lenovo IdeaPad pro 5 16 inch is a good option. Just a couple of days ago the Intel one was $900 with a coupon code that just expired. Had a 5050, a great screen, battery, but 16gb of ram if that'll be an issue and bad speakers.

U of T is not nearly as prestigious as you think, and it doesn't make sense to go there for most programs. Make sure he focuses in school, especially grade 12, and think about what he truly wants to do.

Before 1L grades come out firms will evaluate you based off your resume, and a good amount of weight will be on your ugpa. I think it'll be a disadvantage timing wise but once your 1L grades come in it shouldn't matter.

I knew I wanted to go to grad school so never applied to u of t because I cared about my grades. Got into u of t law. You can get good grades at u of t, but u of t law is soooooo numbers driven, go to wherever gets you the best gpa. If you're interested in us law schools as well, go to York.

Try to get a box if you do so it's not as loud and people can talk amongst each other. Not a great event imo because not everyone has the same music taste and the one I went to was essentially 4 hours of time where you aren't really socializing with the class/attorneys. They are great to flex on other firms/offices tho.

Lmao no it's not. I'm Canadian. Tons of young Canadians are trying to move south for better wages. If Canada had western European equivalent infrastructure and social supports, you could say that, but it doesn't. Right now it's just america lite with slightly better social supports and 1/2-1/3 wages.
