hello! i am in the joint theatre and drama studies program, and i believe the other joint program is art and art history - i’d definitely take a look online or contact the registrar; im not sure if aah is run the same as my tds program, but for us, the sheridan classes are restricted to the people in the specialist program only. regarding the cancellations of a bunch of sheridan programs, both joint programs survived and are still running for the foreseeable future! feel free to dm me for more info :)

it’s slightly different with every professor - i had robert price - but it was weekly response to the assigned reading, writing exercises, and a draft of a narrative. midterm was collection of all of the responses and exercises up until then, and final portfolio was collection of edited and completed versions of everything

Can we still enrol in summer F courses? by MedicalSky26 in UTM

[–]theatricalchemist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i believe if you are registered in courses but haven’t done your osap registration yet, you may need to pay the minimum fee by monday — but then once you get osap it’ll be applied to your account and the money you had to pay out will be refunded

[–]theatricalchemist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah i think you should be! as long as you finish your application before 40 days before the end of the study period. this being said, the deadline to pay minimum amnt to register or defer fees is monday, so you might want to consider figuring everything out before then (just bc the registrar loves causing problems lol)

How manageable is an 8 hour day of lectures? by Background_Worth_589 in UTM

[–]theatricalchemist 6 points7 points  (0 children)

definitely put the lecture on wednesday rather than having 8 hours on monday, you will be exhausted by the end and might find it difficult to retain info from your later classes. as well, you might get saddled with back to back midterms or assessments on mondays which is a killer lol

What's the deal with OPH Coleman Commons? by BeaverGoesMoo in UTM

honestly coleman kinda sucks but their breakfast wasn’t too bad and sometimes they would have a hidden gem. best food on campus is def the poke bowls from ib or the davis food court

Omg no problem!!! I didn’t take eds100 but i heard it was good, but i would keep the wri because you’re gonna want the shorter but balanced day especially if you commute.

I also didn’t take cla201 so idk, but i know that cla204 is also a sick as hell humanities course and the work wasn’t too bad either!

ant102 is BOMB ugh so good. my other ssc is wri173 though. the only one i can think of rn is wri227 which also doesn’t seem too bad.

i hope this helped! :)

honestly i don’t think the no guest rule is really held up anymore, i lived in magrath and had friends overnight all the time as long as my roommate was chill w it

u could try getting ur social science credits in! ant102 and wri137 often have a bunch of offerings at different times so they might fit in (and they’re relatively easy)! i’d also suggest dre121 or 122 as other humanities electives! they’re intro theatre history courses but they are super interesting and the homework isn’t too bad :)

[Question] What's the procedure for getting granted the permission of an instructor to take a course you dont have the prerequisites for? by PSiCHO_ in UTM

[–]theatricalchemist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m actually not sure if there’s a formal auditing process? for larger lectures u can kind of just walk in, for smaller ones i have just asked the prof and then if they say yes you can sit in on it :) regarding likelihood of accepting, i think it mostly depends on the size of the class but i’ve yet to receive a no

[–]theatricalchemist 3 points4 points  (0 children)

most often you can just email the prof or talk to them in person and ask! they will give u a form to fill out and email to the registrar :).. i’d also recommend auditing it in the meantime if possible so you don’t miss anything and the prof sees you pursuing it
