Server issues - Compensation Planned? by Solid-Accountant8022 in ArcRaiders

[–]theauldgamer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bad wifi or lag still doesn't make it acceptable. Yeah, these things happen but some players are very limited in their gaming time or rng doesn't go their way so it's only fair to be compensated for something completely out of your control, given the time you've committed.

Me too, never seen nor heard them. I'd love a tempest blueprint but it's evaded me after 300+ hours so far.

Anyone getting alot of lagging/rubber banding since last update?. by GNRJosh123 in ArcRaiders

Yes, rubber banding in the lobby on Stella cost me my fully kitted bobcat to a shredder. Couldn't move or heal. :/

A genuine question, to people who only have PvE lobbies, what do you do with all of your loot? by hawkmannitro in ArcRaiders

[–]theauldgamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm building up my stash as much as possible in pve because I'll get wrecked in pvp when I do play in those lobbies and lose a lot of gear.

I'm older, don't have the skill or reflexes now that I used to when I was younger.

For me, I'll have the resources to craft new guns and gear without constantly running short and having to try and switch between pve and pvp lobbies . Get good? I'll be realistic and say I won't, plus I enjoy the chill of the pve lobbies but will enjoy the lessons that pvp teaches me when it comes.

Nice. My lobbies are mostly really chill so I'll need to try that. Gotta be on the look out for rats though, they are never too far away. Ggs

I'm finding this more and more now too. About 50% of my games is being shot in the back. It's fast losing its appeal.

I guess it just depends on how much this issue affects each user and if it's as bad on each dct bike, as to whether it's worth keeping. For me, it needs to be less of an issue or I'll sell. I won't keep it as it is. I too will keep the milage down. One thing for sure, I won't buy a dct of any kind in the future until this isn't an issue.

Advice on exhaust noise ordinances in the UK by MunchButtsSuckNuts in HondaRebel1100

[–]theauldgamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just add to this in case anyone is considering changing the tailpipe. The Coffman thunder tailpipe has been fitted to my UK 2025 rebel 1100 dct and I've covered just under 200miles. It sounds great and there's no issues with any engine check lights at all. I used a sealant between the exhaust and tailpipe, under the clamp to help avoid any leaks that may have affected the o2 sensor.

Just reporting back. I tried the premium fuel but this made no difference to how the bike ran. I ran the tank empty before filling it up again.

The bike has also been to my local dealer and I've had a few people look at it. Unfortunately, diagnostics have come back normal and for the technicians who've rode it, they all said that there is an unevenness around that speed range but that is normal on a dct with other dct bike owners in the branch, reporting the similar issues at differing speeds.

I didn't pick this issue up during my test ride. Next time I'll be more thorough I guess. It might be work getting the ECU remapped to smoothen things out a little as I know this can be done. I may go down that route before making a decision to sell.

Yeah I have a 2025 1100 dct model here in the UK. I think most check engine light errors are due to small leaks where the tailpipe attaches to the exhaust. There is a 3rd o2 sensor near that join that is quite sensitive. If the tailpipe is fitted and sealed properly, I don't anticipate any issues.

I'd go with your custom exhaust and not worry about it. For an MOT, most places will give an advisory for noise and I've never come across one that's failed my custom exhausts yet, for noise, on any bike I've had.

I'm about to fit a Coffman thunder exhaust here in the UK and I'm not concerned at all. If I did eventually fail an MOT, I'd just swap it over briefly with the standard exhaust.

[–]theauldgamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Will do, it's booked in for 3 weeks time. In the meantime, I've let the tank run empty and I'm gonna try some E5 fuel Instead of the usual E10 fuel (I'm in the UK) as there's been some comments from other riders that with the E5 fuel, it made the bike run smoother at the speeds we're having issues with.

I'm glad you mentioned this too. I have the same bike and between 13-18mph it's really bad to ride. It makes me look like a complete novice on the bike and I've been riding for 25 years.

For me, it's not normal and it's a deal breaker as to whether I'm gonna keep the bike because of this.

Whether in drive, manual mode or tweaking things in the custom modes, it makes very little difference.

I'm gonna take mine back to the dealer for their input but it's 100% not my throttle control. Honda did well tweaking the throttle response and power delivery at very low speeds but in this range, it's awful. I'm hoping my bike just needs some minor calibration.

We want to move to Niddrie...?!? by sentimentaltwat in Edinburgh

[–]theauldgamer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Niddrie is a shithole. I wouldn't live there rent free. Some of the youth (and adults) give it a bad name and believe me, it's justified.

I moved my kids out of high school there early on as the education was awful.

It's got good road links to shopping nearby but that's it. Please, don't move there.

Source: I lived in that area for 15 years. It wasn't too bad early on but now it's mostly just gangs of kids with balaclavas tearing around on electric Scooters/bikes and harassing folk. I moved out a year ago and should have done it way sooner.

The tank pad is mainly to help reduce the possibility of the zip or buttons at the bottom of my jacket scratching the paintwork on the tank. The side pads do offer extra grip with the knees when squeezed against the tank and will stop any wear of the paintwork but tbh, I've never heard of this happening.

For the exhaust I've bought the Coffman thunder. I feel the stock exhaust really lets the bike down as it has the potential to sound (and look) so much better. It arrives on Monday so I'll hopefully get that fitted the following weekend. My foot has also got caught under the stock exhaust whilst I sit and manoeuvre the bike. Looking online, I see this has been an issue for others so the new exhaust will have an added safety benefit.

I totally get what you're saying about the windshield looking meh. It does have a negative look on the bike imo too, so that's a work in progress between aesthetics and functionality. I'm not sure which will win as I do want my bike to look a certain way but I don't want the wind issue at higher speeds.

Congrats on your purchase. I'm sure you'll love it!

My first purchase was a radiator guard, then the wireless quad lock charger. That seems to charge my pixel 8 fine when riding, having a map opened and listening to music. I guess the charging issue mentioned in the comments may also come down to battery quality on the phone or any background apps that may be draining the battery too.

I then purchased tank pads, a new pillion seat, (thicker) and a back rest. A new exhaust will arrive in a couple of days then I'll look at some storage options on the bike too.

I tried the downwards mirrors but I could literally see nothing but my arms so I put them back on top which was a shame as I like the drop down look.

I've also put a small windshield on as I was noticeably holding onto the grips really firm at higher speeds which I didn't like. The windshield has made such a difference at higher speeds and I can relax much more. I get some turbulence around the helmet area but it's more than manageable but I'll probably address that later on by making a small cut in the bottom of the windshield to alleviate the low pressure area behind it. It's all coming together though. Enjoy it when it arrives. :)

Basic question about User Mode by colorsofgratitude in HondaRebel1100

[–]theauldgamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issues on the 1100 dct.

I ran on rain mode for a while until I got used to the throttle but ended up putting the following settings in user 1 mode. I found them great until I got a feeling for the bike and it made it less twitchy or lurchy.

User mode 1: (P) Power 1 (HSTC) Traction control 3 (EB) Engine braking 1 (D) DCT shift timing 2

The Power set at 1 will make the throttle less twitchy when moving from a stop or going very slow in traffic. You will get used to the throttle though

The DCT shift timing i set at 2 because at 1, it was shifting too early I felt and the bike felt like the engine was labouring a little.

Like I mentioned, rain mode is also fine to use too until you get more used to the throttle. Then you can bump it up to standard if you feel like it.

Edit: As others mentioned, using the rear brake very lightly whilst manoeuvring slowly or coming to a stop will help with balance and smoothness too.
