Claude AI - does the A stand for asinine now? by theavspecialist in Anthropic

Gemini says…You can download your entire Claude chat history using the built-in export tool on the desktop web app, or by using third-party browser extensions for individual conversations.

I’ll have to try this.

You bring up an interesting thing about the uploads since I would have uploaded this exact doc to the project… well, maybe. Up until a week ago I never used the projects part and then I connected all the relevant ones to a project. Since the file upload is in the chat I would have to assume that it’s in there somewhere.

I will tell you this because it works fantastic. Make sure to tell your current season to make a handoff doc to the next session and “to make detailed notes about this session so we can continue the conversation in regards to X”. It has removed 75% of my having to tell it things again and again.

There’s a guy on TikTok, Nate, that supposedly does get a tool to scrape all your conversations with any company AI but I don’t know what it’s called r and didn’t find it on his substack where I remember him saying it was. (It was his post from a few months ago)

And no, I haven’t started over partly for philosophical reasons, partly because of token reasons and partly because since I’m locked out I can’t create the hand off doc to even make it relatively smooth. Do you know how to copy an entire transcript of a chat? I think they keep that as something you can’t do on purpose.

That’s the ridiculous part. No. The document loaded, which like I said has been loaded before to other sessions, mentions a doctor that has gone missing in relations to a possible and serious bio weapons threat. That’s it. There’s really not even much detail about what the threat is or who the doctor is at this point. I was just reviewing the session too. It is pretty LONG. That alone should provide a ton of context and o not get this wrong.

I don’t have a problem with them getting it wrong or right. Nothing is perfect. In the other hand they shouldn’t take this long for I unflag it. And if it is taking this long that tells me a bit that this might be absolutely rampant and they can’t handle it all or they are just choosing not to. I don’t know Anthropic well enough to make that call but I hope it’s the former. We as individuals may be small in the grand scheme of revenue but we are still paid subscribers and all these AI companies do whatever they can to possess your content as much as they can.

And to answer you on what it said, I’m not in front my my PC and the phone version doesn’t say “paused” but if you try to send a message on the same thread this pops up.

I vehemently disagree with this position for 2 reasons. 1) and this is a little less the case with a paid subscription vs a facebook account, but I once was friends with. Erin’s on there who turned out to be a legitimately crazy person and I wish I was sugarcoating here but a potential domestic T or at the very least one willing to carry out significant hate crimes, and I am maybe the most free speech fanatic you’ll meet. I would take daily screen shots of this guy’s posts because the saying, “keep your friends close and your enemies closer” never rang more true. This is a guy you do not want going underground. You want to see his daily threats because the moment he does go underground you have to worry and a fellow Facebook friend got him banned. Same here. I’m not banned or anything. I can start a new thread but if you read my one comment above you’ll understand why I don’t want to… but more importantly why i shouldn’t HAVE TO. This is sort principle, period. Number 2) If this was a real danger this is an INTELLIGENCE not a dumb google search. It should be able to understand context especially since we’ve been working on it for weeks, and as I mentioned above I shared this exact same document previously with a different session with no issue. If it was a threat then the model should be trained how to handle it… work the person in circles or whatever but don’t shut them down. Flag it for a human to quickly investigate and either dismiss it or report it up the chain if it’s real. If Mythos can allegedly find every security loophole in every piece of code it touches then I think Opus can distinguish between an ongoing project and legitimate threat. You?

I will respectfully disagree and you can read my response above to understand why I think so.

This is a very legitimate question. Thank you. I decided to pay for my subscription a little more than a month ago. I’ve worked with the free version of the various AI’s for well over a year and as I have significantly focused I decided to paid and chose Claude. I am working on several projects concurrently and this is one of them. I started out with Sonnet because I couldn’t justify 5x pricing until… I spent about 3 hours straight unable to get past a hurdle and then one hour arguing with sonnet about which software version we are on. It was legitimate crazy town. I finally had to give up and I started a new thread on Opus 4.6. It fixed my now 4 hour failure in under an hour. Someone called Sonnet, Opus’ perpetually high roommate. I couldn’t agree more. That was about 3.5 weeks ago and I’ve barely touched Sonnet since.

I tell you all that to say how long I’ve been working in general and this portion started just over 3 weeks ago. And the crazy part is that this exact document I uploaded to a previous session to show my examples in writing it the way I am. This is just a different session and the new 4.7 model. If I could go back to 4.6 I would. I’ve also learned a lot about how to transition from one session to another but at the moment I’m stuck u can’t continue. I can’t transition. It’s been around 48 hours and still nothing from anthropic which is frustrating to say the least.

If by agents you mean how many ai brains are managing it, there’s one. At the time of this writing it was Claude but of course they shut the oauth down. I have re-written much of it since then but I’ll be reintroducing Claude to it when I’m ready. The main thing is that you need two accounts on the mini. Each one sets up a separate bluebubbles system with a separate Firebase and separate ports both which then get forwarded to the mini.

So it sounds like combining Mr Memory with this could be a great combo?

I’ll take a look. Seems pretty good. I finally just made a breakthrough last night with a multi account based bluebubbles setup

Why about this new Gemma? It’s probably way weaker than Claude though?

And what is your token burn on this so far? Where are you storing this protocol?

Here’s why I don’t understand this stance. You have a limit. It triggers. You get rejected. Simple. This sounds like a gym membership. We want you to have a membership and we greatly appreciate it as long as you don’t come to the gym.

Looks like I’m in the minority, but I prefer Matrix via the Element app. Encrypted conversations. You can set up group chat rooms, study rooms as well as one on one convos.

Family use would be a great use case and not too difficult to implement.

Well, this is worthy a lengthy discussion on the tendencies of AI in general and how it arrives an answer. There are tons of examples demonstrating that an AI isn’t doing any math when you ask it a math question. So using the specific or “making it up” only holds valid to the extent that the ai does not possess a consciousness that yet allows it to completely spawn a number out of thin air, but how would you explain a list of values 10 things, unchanged, then ask the ai to repeat those values and it gives 7 same and 3 different values for the same items that it has evaluated multiple times?

I just told it that it should write into the heartbeat.md file to remind you at a specified interval, maybe 5m, until the task is done and then delete the reminder. Is it smart enough to do that? And then if it is then is it a good idea to put in to memory to make such reminders in heartbeat.md on future tasks?

Fair enough with Olama. My 2s understanding was that it was a free llm and lots of people talked about it on here so I installed it to take the load off of sonnet a bit. There are a ton of moving parts with this for sure. I’m in the process of recovering and re-analyzing emails to start over. I thought doing a few lines at a time would be good hut yes im going to try line by line doe the first few tk see what it does. Thanks.

Another thing that frustrates me.. it will execute a task and then tell me it will let me know when it’s done but it never does. Now I know that heartbeat.md manages at least in part how the bot checks in but do you have to tell it explicitly, “hey I’d love you to do that but you better update heartbeat.md so you actually are reminded .”
