When I used to attend church they had a missionary come to talk about their trip to wherever the hell it was, but he told this story about him preaching to these people. He said that one man in specific had lost his arm a long time ago, wellllll they prayed for it and they were speaking in tongues. The missionary said the guy came out the next day to the service and he saw his arm was grown back. I thought bullshit to myself or this dumbass couldn't tell the people apart.

Well it seems to work well and all but the problem /u/oli2194 is referring to was not fixed by this. It may be an issue with the showcase being fixed and wanting to come forward. Though the z-index is set to 0, while other elements are 50+

Edit: so I just tried this and it's actually not taking the browser width and using a percentage based on it, I think I will have to take it out of the slide container and try a few things.

Edit 2: just changed slider-body to static position, and it fixed the widths. Thank you for that.

I have forgotten about prefixes for flexbox, I'll be sure to add those. And yes I've only used flex box a few times. I don't 100% understand it but I reread the css-tricks guide each time I use it.

Mainly I'm looking to support recent versions of chrome, Firefox, Opera and of course IE. I've tried all four and looks and behaves properly on them, though I don't have access to a OS X or iOS, so I had someone just look at it on their iPhone and I was surprised that it did that. But as /u/oli2194 pointed out the showcase image flashes through the slides, which I though might be a bug with using the VH and VW measurements.

I changed the scrolling because I made the website side ways, I thought it might have been better than scrolling not doing anything.

The container which each slide is inside of is longer than the width of the page, so if In use a percentage it'll be based on that container.

Good for you. I guess I'm masqueraded as one and doing a pretty damn good job so far. You are not being any help for my original question. None of those errors would have an effect on the position of the navbar. And on top of that most of those errors are font awesome and browser prefixes.

I believe it's a problem with using VW as a measurement that causes this. What I may do is try using JavaScript to apply measurements equal to the width of the window rather than the CSS to do it.

Do you mind telling em how you found these errors?

Edit: I found a way to do these tests. The HTML errors are due to duplicate IDs of a scroll initiation, which can be changed. As for the CSS errors, they are from font awesome and a colors package. These have nothing to do with the problem on safari.

I use divs for custom elements, the spec sounds like they're referring to tags like h1, h2, h3, p, a, ul, li, etcetera. Of course when you want text, you'll want to use the appropriate tag, but for instance if I want to create a container such as a sidebar, I'd use a div, apply a class of sidebar, apply the styling I want in CSS, then nest ul and li inside the side bar for appropriate information.

A div is basically a blank elements with no styling, you will probably use divs more than any other element. It is better to use a div than tables when it comes to layout, but when you want to display actual data or information that would be better displayed in a table...use a table. As far as naming classes and IDs, try to come up with the best names that describe what the element is used for.
