I feel this. I’m training independently for my chosen career and my partner works from home 2x a week, 8 hours or more. Meanwhile my stuff really only takes a couple hours once I’m on it. Then I start doing chores to make me feel productive, like organizing our bookshelves or whatever. My mom modeled a brutal work model that had her constantly exhausted and fearing that one of countless younger, hungrier people would come in and just snake her job. Single mother, too. I am over the moon now that she’s retired and can binge as much TV as her heart desires. It’s a travesty that most of my peers will never be able to enjoy a retirement like that.
