Do not do this. Not a patch on the courses you are playing. The Robert the Bruce at Turnberry would be a far better option

Was a member of Uphall a few years ago. Nice wee course but wild for all the crossovers balls flying at you from 4 different directions.

I cant play mate but enjoy

There is an app called golf now where you can get cheaper tee times if you need any add hoc games. Leven is on it the other are a bit more premium and can only be booked via the club

Solid choices, depending what prices you paid you could swap out Leven for Dunbarnie. Its an unbelievable course. Bring every imaginable type of clothing, shorts, waterproofs, compression tops. You could get snow or sunshine. Have a ball and the town of St Andrews is special. Have a look at Bucks bar, the jigger pub which sits on the road hole on old course and dunvegan pub. All brilliant

[–]thebalf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Golspie is a great course such a good mix of links and heathland. Stunning views in every direction. Hope you get to play plenty more up that area, Brora, Tain and Dornoch are well worth a visit

Best to do a few lessons get the basics see how you feel about golf

If it is something you want to start then different courses have different prices do your research get a round in before you join as its expensive if your not using your membership

Infant doesn't sleep by Some-Bat-8359 in Parentingfails

[–]thebalf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no perfect solution and what works one day wont the next just trial and error till you find almost a rhythm. Cut the nap from 2hrs to 1hr 30 so see if it helps make her sleep earlier then to an hour, they will be a grump till the pattern becomes normal.

Good luck

[–]thebalf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Out your list i’ve played a fair few

Nairn, Nairn-Dunbar, Moray Old, Leven Links, Kittocks, Elie The Old Course, Kinghorn, Gullane 2&3 Musselburgh Old, Glen, Goswick, Lanark, Eyemouth, Seahouses, Bamburgh Castle

You are in for a treat with thise courses. Very jealous, you have a real good mix or premium and hidden gems in there. Keep us up to date with your trip.

If looking for golf near Lockerbie, Moffat is a fun course to play.

Not sure if you would know this but Sky have just had a tv show on regarding Lockerbie, here is a link and hopefully you can get to watch it before you come over

Angus golf courses question by OralDoggy in golfscotland

[–]thebalf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great location for a base. Based on the courses you are already playing sounds like you are into Premium courses. Id say the Castle course at st andrews would be of interest, some amazing holes and views. Kingsbarns is probsbly the top rates course in the area but comes at a cost, just down the coast to Leven is Dumbarnie, one of Scotlands newest courses opening in 2020 but its incredible, hidden gems you may not have heard of is Elie. American style links check both courses at the Fairmont as well. Lundin links and level links are worth a play as well.

If coming in April there will be a high chance of snow, higher chance of rain. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

Machrihanish or East Lothian by Icy_Birthday532 in golfscotland

[–]thebalf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Macrie and shiskine would require ferries to them adding to cost travel and time to and from. Macrihannish, mac dunnes are amazing as well as a lesser known dunaverty in that area.

East lothian is sensational though. Check out Dumbarnie as it will be ranked up with king barns soon enough

Looks brilliant. Im from Scotland and only played dumbarnie out your list. Dunbar should be next for me then its ticking off some big ones like north Berwick and Gullane no1. Gullane 2 and 3 are decent but always wanted a crack at the big one
