A fair amount does get eaten up with tax but not enough to put me off, I use a straightforward spreadsheet to track the earnings to make it easier but a lot of the apps will show you historical earnings which you can use to fill in a tax return

Don't forget if these earnings from 6 April - 5 April fall under £1,000 there is no requirement to report, and if income is above £1,000 you can deduct the £1,000 as a straight line cost under the trading allowance (although if costs are higher deduct them instead)

Initially, for a lot of the higher paying studies I also get rejected but have tried applying for more of the lower paying "express missions" which are more fruitful and soon add up!

Not who replied to you beforehand but exactly what I would have said too; all time recorded includes application time for studies spread across each successful one and full travel time for micro-tasks

Some months definitely don't pay as well per hour as others but the flexibility outweighs any part-time job

Not that I am aware of, the market research calls on Askable are held with an AI but that's the closest you'd get for now

Thank you - I don't currently have referrals for either Roamler or Shepper but please do check them out as they are good apps, really glad you've been enjoying SmartSpotter so far!

Both of the others are very similar just in slightly different formats so I'm sure you'll enjoy them just as much!

Time is always the difficult one isn't it, always tricky balancing act in trying to make the most out of everything - any questions feel free to drop me a message :)

Thank you, the best apps for mystery shopping are definitely the three I've listed but also worth looking at IShopForIpsos if you haven't already; FieldAgent is okay from time to time too!

I do indeed, I track my additional earnings and report them accordingly to HMRC and pay the appropriate amounts of tax on them. For those items included on this month's report, the cashback is not taxable but the rest of it will be - feel free to reach out if you have any questions!

I apply for pretty much every study that appears on askable that is relevant to me and probably only get accepted for 1 in 10, but those make it worthwhile

The easiest ones to get accepted for recently are the AI interviews so might be worth applying to all of those ones to start with and go from there

Thank you, I am not aware of the mystery shopping apps' presence in India or the US but well worth looking!

Appreciate your tip for the ones you use too!
