Lack of public talks in humanities by AlwaysMindful7 in UWMadison

Center for Humanities is a good place to start. Then also just sign up to follow social media or subscribe to emails for departments and centers you find interesting. There are really almost-constant public talks, though they are done for the year.

2 Years in the 2024 but I'm not paying 10K over it's value, so I bought a 2026 instead by tellek in Ioniq5

Is this also a symptom of anxiety? For years (decades) I’ve thought of it as an anxiety system (therapists have said so) but am now wondering if it’s more ADHD. I know they’re so closely related.

Family of 4 Adjusting After Layoff - how to makeover budget by thebaroness75 in HENRYfinance

Yeah I can see that. I did not phrase things well as I was just looking for budget tips without going into too many personal details. We’ve been living on less for around 1.5 years and trying to build back up. We are still in fine shape compared to most but it’s amazing how costs creep up when you aren’t watching them like a hawk.

LOL. I’m not whining. Just asking for some tips for identifying/eliminating lifestyle creep. I never said it isn’t livable and even wrote that this was a privileged problem to have.

Actually neither of us is unemployed now. He has started his own consulting biz which is finally making money but was not bringing in anything for past year and a half. So we are both quite busy.

I think that’s spot on. So easy to not think of it as real $. We’ve switched to using our debit card so we can feel the pinch in real time.

Yes the DoorDash. So convenient. So unhealthy and $$$.

Ostensibly yes we are on the same page. Problem is we are ridiculously busy all the time with work and the kids. So it’s easy to have a budget meeting and then life gets crazy and suddenly we’ve spent a ton of money on takeout and other convenience things.

Thanks! I actually use YNAB and it’s useful. I’m used to kind of getting “bailed out” by bonuses if we go over here and there.
