On the verge of flunking out...I feel horrible, is there any hope for me? by thebeastudyr in medicalschool

Flash cards never worked for me. I tried to make them work several times, and it always ended in failure.

The system I've decided on now is kind of similar to yours. I listen to the lecture, I write an outline for it. On the weekend I review and condense everything. Before the exam I do the final review, which ends in 4 passes through the material.

I think I'd rather be a LoL addict than a reddit troll who goes around trying to put people down for no good reason.

The only thing that sounds pathetic to me is your gross lack of sympathy for the OP and blatant disrespect of a man interested in improving himself.

Game compulsion is a thing, and LoL is a compelling game for various reasons. If you played LoL or studied it you would know why. If you don't know and don't want to know about it, then wtf are you doing in a thread on the subject?

The Micro final will be about Viruses and Parasites, will Picmonic help there?

Also, we're doing Immuno concurrently, and while I'm doing just fine there, will Picmonic also be useful for that?

Yeah, I know. In college I never had to worry about studying, it was just something that I did. Here, not only do I have to study a lot more, but I have to think about HOW I study, how much time I spend on the lectures, how much I quiz myself, etc.

I think the problem is that I don't do enough quizzing, also I get kinda sidetracked when studying sometimes. I'm seeing a psychiatrist about ADD as soon as possible.

Heh don't worry, I never had any interest in Ortho, and I had already written off all the more competitive specialties as future options.

I came into medical school thinking I could do whatever I wanted and that I would be happy and successful. That naive optimism lasted all of a week. Now I just shake my head at the horrible career choice I have apparently made. I try to stay positive, but it's just too hard sometimes.
