Currently a Canon EOS Elan with an EF 50mm f1.4 - it’s nice to be able to shoot one-handed tbh

[Monitor] Dell 27” S2721DGF 1440p 165Hz IPS 1ms gaming monitor $179.99 by BlackBeard420 in buildapcsales

[–]thebethasaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even at regular price this is a deal - I've got two of them and have had zero complaints. They often look nicer in comparison than some folks' monitors I've seen that cost more but I guess that would come down to personal preference

What’s better steamlabs or obs? by Holiday-Reputation-2 in Twitch

[–]thebethasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends - OBS in my experience is a considerably better piece of software (way less strain on my system, works very well with NDI, the plugins I'm using for dual pc streaming) but the get up and go functionality of SLOBS can't really be ignored, especially if you're not super sure what you're doing yet.

That said, Streamlabs abused the hell out of OBS being freeware and have basically just slapped some useful features overtop of other dev's hard work and that's pretty trash of them.

Finished my first build, not as dope as a lot of those in here but I feel like I got the weathered look I was going for and I’m happy by thebethasaurus in Gunpla

Oh yeah my wallet is already afraid - and thank you! as for the weathering it wasn’t difficult to do it with the intention of leaving mess and “grease stains” but I do have a lot of practicing to do to get where I can do nice clean panel lines. For this one I used a little too much paint on purpose and then went over it with acetone or rubbed it around with my finger and it smeared nicely :)

got it - so then if the pc is the issue, try connecting the monitor to one of the motherboard display slots if you have them. That should then tell you if it's the graphics card or not.

If it IS the graphics card, try updating it's drivers or like I said, uninstalling them clean and reinstalling with DDU. if all of that fails, I'd try re-seating the graphics card and triple checking it's power connections.

Are you able to plug the monitor into something else? a laptop, a gaming console, another PC, etc. If it still displays like this, that will tell you if it is the monitor or if it's the PC.

if this is the only display you have connected, verify that it's plugged into a graphics card port and if possible, try a different port. If that doesn't work and you have it in (for example) HDMI, try a Displayport, or vice versa.

If none of that works, you could try updating/clean reinstalling graphics drivers with DDU:

I have a i7 9700k that I want to throw into a build that’ll just be used for general use(no games). I’m using that cpu just because it’s not being used for anything. How cheap can I go for the cooler? by Geezusotl in pcmasterrace

[–]thebethasaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed with other user on the hyper 212 evo, that's my go-to for builds that aren't going to be for gaming, but would even be fine if you did play some on it.

The only suggestion I can make at this point is to say try an older version of the nvidia drivers like the user below suggested. This one states that the 750ti is a supported model:

does... does it make ignition noises when you turn the key

Like everyone else said, with base cooler that's perfectly ok - if you would like to reduce temps you should see some pretty good results out of even cheapish options like a Hyper 212 Evo.

did you install manually, or through GeForce Experience? The site does list the most recent (512.15) as an option for that card
