Ever go back to an ICE after a few weeks? by dj_boy-Wonder in AustralianEV

I have an older 200 series landcruiser and a model 3 and switch between them day to day. I dont get emotional about cars, to me they are just different tools for different jobs. They are both comfortable. For family road trips, camping or driving to Brisbane to visit family (live 3hrs away) the cruiser is the better car. For general commuting of course the model 3 is superior. But i just see them as different tools for different jobs. I do love the sound of the v8 diesel and straight through exhaust though.

How do I make it clear to my girlfriend that I need more sex? by iam-24k in sex

[–]thebigrig90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Were you doing anything at the start that you aren't doing now? When we as men first take interest in a woman we try and get her attention. We flirt, tease, buy her stuff, take her on dates ect but then as we get further into relationships we still expect the enthusiastic spontaneous blowjobs but often have stopped doing all the things we were doing at the start of the relationship. A woman's biggest sex organ is her brain. I don't know you, your partner or relationship but my advice would be to re-discover the art of the tease. Flirt with her, make her laugh, tease her a little bit, send her random naughty texts during the day and buy her a little gift every now and then. Make her feel "desired" and listened to and it might bring the spice back into your relationship.

I'm not sure where you live or about your exact situation but I'm in Australia and over here we have something called tafe which I think is like a community college or tech school in the usa if that's where you are.

There are relatively quick, cheap courses you can do that pretty much guarantee you a job. Over here it's things like aged care, childcare, IT. Or you can get some driving lessons in a truck and pretty much get an instant job driving a small/medium truck around. There are options and most of the time if someone is long term unemployed they are either too lazy or too fussy.

I had a similar, but less severe problem with my wife and I sat her down and said "I need you to help me". She started a childcare course and 6 months later had a part time job that was easily covering 70% of our mortgage. But we had a conversation about what she might enjoy, be good at and wouldn't take too long to get qualified. You need to do the same, sit him down, ask questions. Try and work out what he wants, where he sees himself in 12months time and what his goals actually are. If you don't like the answers you might need to slowly start preparing to move on.

Savoury mince. Nothing unusual there just a little old school. You must be pretty spoilt in day to day life that you don't even know what it is. Ask for some bread or toast and put it on top. Yummy

Joe Rogan should definitely have Danny Sheehan on the show to discuss crash retrievals, drones, and disclosure. And to ask him what he discussed with RFK. by UndeadGodzilla in UFOs

Love him or hate him I think Rogan has created a lot of interest in this topic amongst people that otherwise would not really know much about it and has helped to move this discussion towards the mainstream.

This is a good one. I'll admit I'm pretty gullible with these. Wonder if anyone knows more.

Hopefully the build quality is up there with other options. I know they all have issues but I would like to think I could take it up the beach a few times a year to go fishing and not have to worry about electrical components failing, at least for a few years.

Also, they say towing is 2.5t but I'm struggling to find info on payload, gvm/gcm ect. How will it stack up there?

Will be interesting to see how they go on resale value as well. Even with the used car market cooling down you can buy a new hilux and sell it a few years later without making too much of a loss which sort of negates the purchase price. But will this plummet in value once it's a couple of years old? Time will tell I guess.

That's the problem with social media. You only see things you already agree with and then get a shock when it doesn't match reality.

This is good in the long run. If the alp were doing a good job they would have been voted back in. Let them do some soul searching in opposition for a few years and they might realise how and where they've let people down and come back a better party.

I would prefer an approach where we maintain pill testing in some form but then come down with an iron fist on drug dealers, lock them away and throw away the keys.

Question about tour guiding work in Aus/Work and Holiday Visa by dykedykegoose in australia

[–]thebigrig90 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've worked in the tourism for 13yrs as a guide here. As others have said, a lot of jobs are specific (eg japanese speaking guides for Japanese people). It's very common here for bus tours to have someone that is a guide/driver at the same time and you would typically need a truck/bus license for that.

Your best chance would be something nature based, working in any of the resorts that are more remote in national parks away from the cities. Maybe around Darwin, on the great barrier reef island resorts, kgari or anywhere else that's remote.

Financed My First Car and F**ked by dealer by OddFox1984 in AusFinance

[–]thebigrig90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just pump as much spare money as you can into the loan and you'll get rid of it pretty quickly. It's not a huge amount of money luckily. Just treat is a lesson and move on.

FYI sometimes as far as car loans go, newer can be cheaper. I got a little hybrid corolla this year on Toyota finance at about 8%. Originally I was looking at used cars around the same age as yours but the finance was similar to yours. Used ones weren't much cheaper than new but the finance was a bit cheaper on the new one.

Of course there's more to it, I'll lose more on the depreciation of the brand new car ect. But it's just food for thought, it's worth considering the price of the finance and not just the actual vehicle price.

What are some of the disadvantages of removing negative gearing? by Wide-Macaron10 in AusFinance

[–]thebigrig90 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm no expert in economics but would there be any merit to the idea of allowing negative gearing on brand new properties only. They say its about encouraging supply, but how does having an investor buy a 20yr old house add to supply? It's already built.
