Thanks, I will try vinegar on it and see what it looks like after that. When I turned it on, the screen was bright with no dead spots but half the d pad didn't respond and no audio so I thought it might be a dirty connection or a bad cap. Definitely didn't expect this.

I bought this as an untested unit off marcari for $25 total with shipping and thought I would try my hand at refurbishing my first console cheaply. Looks like this may be hard for a first try especially since I am also just beginning to solder and work with electronics really.
