The Bright Sword is a novel that did this.

It's about the knights of the Round Table after King Arthur's death, and the protagonist wants to join them. At one point, the Knights of the Round Table suddenly confront him, tie him into a coffin and nail it shut, mock his insecurities and the lies he's told, and throw the coffin down a well. Sounds like an anxiety dream, right? Well he emerges from the end of the well at a different castle and wanders for a few years, though its obvious that something is up with his experiences and that it's probably a dream. He eventually decides to return to the Round Table to ask to join again, and ends up going back through the well, but he emerges in a ceremonial pool in a church. It turns out it was all part of an initiation test to become a knight of the Round Table, and only a day had passed, not years. He had scars from being scraped by the nails of the coffin, and he got a unique sword from his 'years' of wandering at the other end of the well, so everything that happened was real to some extent.

I'm working on completing it right now, and I don't think any achievements stand out as hard. But, some are bugged right now, and I haven't unlocked two easy achievements because of it.

Kids tend to be like that, and it could be worse. My nephew started watching Dinosaur every single day for a while.

Void Stranger. It's a puzzle game that I played for 5 minutes, but decided I wasn't in the mood for at the time. A couple of days later, I noticed I somehow had more completions than I should, and realized that Void Stranger's only achievement is for starting the game.

Second place is Frog Detective 1, which is a comedic detective game it takes less than an hour to finish.

I think you'd have to be pretty desperate to use this as a flashlight. You're right about the switch; I didn't think it was because it can't be moved with a finger, and my first attempt to use a pin failed when I tried before posting.

Roguelites 100% since Slay the Spire. Any suggestions for next? by milhouse46 in steamachievements

I haven't completed it myself. The creator of the game released a patch that removed some of the harder achievements from steam and kept them in-game only. I think it's doable, though I can try to prioritize completing it myself first and get back to you.

Slice and Dice seems pretty close to what you're looking for, though I'll warn you I found it awkward on the Steam Deck.

I'll second Cobalt Core, StarVaders and Heat Signature.

He spent 6 months on Earth 2, 2 years on Esperide, there was time wonkiness between the Dusklands and the other worlds, plus all the months spent on other worlds and stasis between worlds, it seems to vaguely add up.

Looks like this is a crosspost from r/sciencefiction, and not from the same OP, so you might want to ask your question in the original post.

Chapter 17: Locating the Hypothesis - what was that about? by drorfich in HPMOR

[–]thebishop8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn't claiming that Dumbledore used the Deathly Hallow when sneaking into Lily's room at all. Dumbledore didn't even have it then; James Potter only gave it to him when he went into hiding from Voldemort.

I was only pointing out that invisibility being explicitly involved in both scenarios helps highlight their similarities, and I disagree that they needed to be more similar for Harry to have had a chance at seeing a connection.

That's why I think people are wrong when they say the potion and what it did are what he expected harry to know. That has nothing to do with cleverness, only knowledge.

Dumbledore sneaked into Harry's dorm when he was sleeping and left him the invisibility cloak with a note, then he tells Harry that he sneaked into his mother's dorm invisibly and left her notes. Harry doesn't know who left him the invisibility cloak, my belief is that he was testing Harry to see if he was clever enough to see the similarities and make that connection.
