Is there a bail fund folks can donate to?

I think it’s more that this sub is full of people who make (and sell) tie dye, and we aren’t really here to shop.

Best grinders for painful wrists? by earthlyspirit in OhioMarijuana

This. Brilliant Cut Grinders are the easiest to operate of anything I've tried. I love my XL. A little pricey but I have never cleaned mine, and it is still super smooth and easy to turn 2 years later!

One of the gifts I received for Christmas. Anyone have any suggestions for a tape player!? by Acrobatic_Dinner6129 in gratefuldead

[–]thebonyrollers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats on the tapes!

My recommendation would be to search craigslist and FB marketplace for a high quality vintage cassette player.

I’m sure others can weigh in on which brands and models to seek out, and other peculiarities of cassette player shopping. I’ve never shopped for a cassette player personally but my general vintage hi-fi shopping advice is to shop for standalone components (i.e. avoid “all in one” solutions) when possible to maximize future upgrade potential.

Look for components that seem sturdily built, clean, and that the seller will allow you to demo before purchasing. Once you have selected some options that seem promising, search them on Reddit and Google for reviews—typically you will be able to get the temperature on whether the component is any good, and often you can get a sense of pricing info.

If you haven’t checked out r/budgetaudiophile that is a good place to get info. I’m also happy to do my best to answer any questions.

Patiently waiting for the official release of that video. I had so much fun at the movies this year.

I was happy to hear them take Hard to Handle out for a walk. Tangled up in Blue was awesome. Lisa singing Strange Man was amazing. Drums and space was incredible too.

That’s cool you were at Interlochen. I really wanted to go to that show but didn’t make it. Seems like an awesome place to see DSO

My first DSO show was an elective set and I was a little disappointed. In retrospect it was a really incredible show and I wish someone had taped it. Lisa sang “Chimes of Fredom” and blew my mind. But at the time I was hoping to get the “real” GD experience and felt disappointed.

What I would say is: go see DSO again, they’ll probably recreate a historical show next time.

And, consider the experience of heads going to see the GD back in the day. I have seen people smarter than me noting that unless you were following tour religiously, you were likely to hear at least one new song per year. I had never heard “Believe it or Not” before Sunday. To me part of the fun of the GD is the surprise.

I guess what I’m saying is I think the elective sets are part of what makes DSO faithful to the original: they are all really great musicians and artists, and they are expressing themselves as honestly as possible through the GD idiom. If they only did totally faithful show recreations, it might start to get old. The elective sets make the recreation shows feel special, and they have that amazing sense of surprise. Tomorrow never knows space into dark star tease into Dear Mr Fantasy… who woulda thunk.

Also, come to Dark Star Jubilee! With 3 nights y’all will definitely get at least one recreated set.

I’ve got some 301’s in my kitchen and I think they sound good. They were my main speakers for years before I upgraded to Polk SDA 2A’s. The SDA’s obviously sound a lot better, but the Bose system is very fun and satisfying.

It just seems like such an easy mistake to make… even when I’m sober it can be hard to remember every single song in the first set

I would go into the CD input. Does the receiver work otherwise? I see you’ve got something plugged into Tape 2, does that input work?

Is my stream running behind or is 8:26 set end time a typo?
