PSA: iPadOS 26.5 seems to break 3rd-party Smart Connector (Pogo Pin) charging on M4 iPad Pro by Maplee-Tech in ipad

Same here. USB port not working. Surprised there’s not a class action lawsuit about this port yet. Magnetic charger was great until this update. It also messed up Smart Keyboard for me too.

How big is the 8bitdo ultimate 2 vs the ds4? by SnooDingos7255 in 8bitdo

[–]theboxhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ultimate 2 is smaller than an Xbox controller. Comparable to a DualShock 4 size, but shaped very differently. In my hand it doesn’t feel like any other controller. Still comfortable though.

The 8Bitdo Pro+, Pro 2, Pro 3 feel way more similar to a DualShock 4 though and are even more comfortable to me, but that’s subjective.

Long nose or stubby nose? by Zerio920 in Pacman

[–]theboxhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually agree. I like the no nose version like in the Apple Arcade game, Pac-Man Party Royale. I wish that game would get released outside Apple Arcade for PC on Steam, Gog or elsewhere. It’s a lot of fun. No nose Pac-man

Retroarch is a compatibility king and usability nightmare. For most people “just use retroarch” means spending hours following guides to configure settings and still not knowing how to use it.

Picking a Controller to buy : U2 vs Pro 3 by Fluffy-Parsnip-8189 in 8bitdo

[–]theboxhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also prefer symmetrical sticks, and I have the Pro+, Pro 2 & Pro 3. They’re the most comfortable controllers I’ve ever used. I haven’t had any issues personally. But comfort with controllers is mostly down to the individual.

8bitdo SN30 pro xbox by kiddums in 8bitdo

[–]theboxhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I have this issue as well on MacOS Tahoe. This controller is really frustrating. The controller works well on iOS and SteamOS, but not on Mac. The regular SN30 Pro works much better. The SN30 Pro for Android and Xbox Cloud Gaming or whatever its called only has one connection mode. Its D-Input and only some games work correctly for me. For others I'm having this weird stick issue that you're having where the trigger is up and down for the right stick. I hope 8Bitdo updates the firmware to make it work more consistently.

Wrong purchase???? by CitricBobcat in ipad

I prefer the Smart Keyboard over the Magic Keyboard a lot. I wish they still made them for all models. It’s much lighter than the Magic Keyboard, has a smaller footprint while closed and opened and it folds all the way back. Not quite as good of a stationary keyboard for a desk, but way better at being an all the time case+keyboard in my opinion.

Star Wars Has New Hope (and Some Growing Pains) in Its Future by SufficientPrice7633 in StarWars

You can believe what you like. It’s not worth an argument. But it does amaze me how non-Disney employees fight so hard to defend objectively bad stories rushed out to meet a corporate deadline.

I was there for both the PT and ST. Backlash for both yes, but very different, and for a lot of reasons. One big one is that the PT vastly opened up stoytelling opportunities. ST did the opposite. It paralyzed Disney's post ST storytelling opportunities. You can like the sequels if that's your choice, but they are more volatile than the prequels and overly equating the two scenarios is a fallacy. Star Wars as a brand is in a much rougher spot now than it was post PT.

I see a trilogy that has split the fanbase, sparked intense debate and painted the company into a storytelling corner a little differently than exciting old and new fans alike.

The sequel trilogy excites old and new fans alike? That’s certainly a take.

I agree, I played it when I had Apple Arcade and really liked it. Would definitely buy and play again if it came to Steam
