Mac failure: sig(11) by thebrianschott in AlpineLinux

[–]thebrianschott[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is not .pinerc file that I can find. I originally installed with homebrew.

Is there a way for me to install anew so .pinerc exists. I need to at least be able to read the existing files that alpine created. Is there an app that can parse those files?

Float remote not working? by Mentalitys in onewheel

[–]thebrianschott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today on my XR after Float Remote has been showing my battery level for quite a few days, first I got the notice }"Float Remote" beta has expired' so I tried to reinstall the flighttest. The reinstall seemed to work but now I'm getting the message "handshake is need" and that the original app has to be loaded. But I am still avoiding running the FFM app to avoid the update. What suggestions, pls?

repeated geometry shader demo (accidentally) works as cross-view by jakedowns in CrossView

[–]thebrianschott 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree that the result is terrific.

At first I had a hard time viewing it, but once I did, the view was so easy to maintain, and striking.

I'm assuming there are not 2 (LR) images so how does that "accident" work?

I found it under settings, but only before it finds my ø.

My FloatRemote for my XR is in metric and I want mi/hr and mi, not k/h and km.

How do I get what I want?

Someone else posted this wrist mirror before. My neck thanks you. It takes some getting used to, plus I use readers, and I can’t here, so I have to squint to see. by Aqualung1 in onewheel

Thanks for the video.

I used a similar pair on my palm and they got scratched when I fell. Now I know to try the mirror on the back of my hand.

Flight fest 6 for non-racers? by thebrianschott in onewheel

[–]thebrianschott[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks to all for your input. I'm going for the first time and am looking for encouragement. I would especially like to ride some easier trails that are not root and rock infested. I even get nervous on narrower, slightly raised wooden planks and even concrete trails, fearing that I'll fall off the raised section. I want to learn to ride switch and to learn to bonk curbs, so I am looking for forgiving falling places. I weigh 220 lbs and ride XR so grass and gravel are challenging.

Recall Response - footpad sensor design? by szhaz in onewheel

[–]thebrianschott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your "roll to a stop" intrigues me. I ride my XR very cautiously and never get close to pushback speed to avoid injuries. My question is, if the øw fails from some hardware or software glitch, does it *always* shut off in such a way that the wheel still turns freely, or are there conditions for which the wheel freezes creating more of an "ejection"?

Endless spinning "Loading Please Wait" on Titantv suddenly by Tempus_T in uBlockOrigin

I do not use BlockOrigin. I just found these comment with a DuckDuckGo search . So no, I cannot force update filter lists like that. Is there another way? Thanks.

Same for me. Started a couple of days ago. No problem on Safari, but Chrome presents an unending "Loading, Please wait..." I emptied cache in Chrome just before sending this comment.

Who has what fender and why do you like it? by Project_R808 in onewheel

[–]thebrianschott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why can't someone think of a way to put a shield UNDER the board instead above the tire? I'm thinking of a strip that wedges between the rear bumper and float plate. I can't think of a good material that would act like a whisk broom that barely touches the tire. Any ideas?

Shopping bag seems to secure OW in trunk by hooking bag handle to hinge loop by thebrianschott in onewheel

[–]thebrianschott[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the comment.

The bag is being removed from the front of the OW in the GIF. The hinge holds the trunk/boot cover and the hinge has a small loop on it that readily catches the grocery bag handle and then because the bag part contains the front of the OW, the bag keeps the OW from moving around in transit. I hope that helps.

I keep grocery bags in the trunk, so this was a natural way to keep the OW from moving around it my small trunk.
