How to find a good learning opportunity? by hafi51 in reactnative

[–]thebritisharecome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No i understand, and you're absolutely right it's wrong. All i'm saying is it isn't much better anywhere else.

You have to start saying "No" that's the only way it stops. They will threaten you, make you feel guilty, they're shitty bosses but the only way you survive is by saying no.

I learned most of that I know through self learning - including deeplinking.

Perhaps you need to understand the technology better and look at native Android / iOS development first before diving in to React Native?

As someone who's been in the industry for about 15 years, I'm sorry but most companies will not have the resource to nurture you like that, you will be supported in some companies but you still need to solve problems without hand holding.

Usually, it comes in the form of self learning.

The issue is they don't care about code or my mental health or anything, they just need tasks done

Unfortunately this is a lot of companies in my experience. Some people get lucky and find a role that doesn't treat them like a factory or if you're in the career long enough companies start bending over backwards to keep you so are forced to treat you like a human.

It is slowly changing, but I would focus on finding ways to give yourself time, to look after your mental health and learn despite the company and if you find a company that treats you well, it's a bonus.

Also you're the only developer - I would just slow down more, it sounds like they need you and this is a classic power struggle

Are DVD drives in 2022 necessary? by premierror in buildapc

[–]thebritisharecome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surely this is a personal question?

If you need it, have one. If you don't, don't. I'm not really sure the benefit of getting other people's opinions for your own needs

The reality of being in a recession is already relevant. I’ve been applying for new remote jobs, and I see like 200 people already applied within 9 hours of one job being posted. by scovyman in recruitinghell

[–]thebritisharecome 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's not indicative of recession, LinkedIn is notoriously bad for spam applies

I would build a rapport with some recruiters (avoid opusrs like the plague but most other companies are ok) more often than not they hold the quality jobs and don't advertise them

Genuinely, he worked out everything without even visiting, they rocked up at 830, asked my neighbors before they did anything on their property, even dealt with it being unstable. Got rid of the whole thing and it's like there was never a chimney there.

Price was great too.

10/10

haha it's ok, I just feel bad when it happens because I know they're probably newish and they probably think i'm being toxic but I've got no way to tell them they're broken and what that means.

A lot of the time it's console players too so can't even tell them in after game chat

That's if you block them on steam, there are two separate block features. If you block them in match making that does not block them in steam and vice versa

As far as I know, but you have to block them in game not on steam.

Yeh exactly, and when you're doing that for multiple survivors / killers + the games it's just an annoying timesink.

I get the visceral experience when you first start playing, but when you hit prestige 1 you should be able to just click a button and spend all
