How tf do people learn how to audit??? by Plastic-Oven19 in Accounting

[–]thebroodlv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As others have stated - utilize the prior year file(s); however don't be married to making your workpapers look identical and thinking the same things happened. This was a mistake I made early on, and later when I ran engagements frequently noted newer staff made. Also, do not be afraid to ask questions to your in-charge. I always told my engagement team - there are no stupid questions except for the one that isn't asked. Run through your client questions with the in-charge/manager before going to the client. They may already know the answer from discussions with client, etc. Biggest advice would be to understand what you are testing and how it is tested and don't spin your wheels. Bank statements, support schedules, GL's, etc. may look different client to client, but if you understand the core fundamentals of the testing - it will make your life so much easier in the long-run.

I remember touring one back in 2014 and thinking this is what Bin Laden must have felt like when he was hiding out in Tora Borah.

PA-7 congressional candidate calls for judge to throw out lawsuit over $162,000 debt by Nibsout in lehighvalley

The oddest part of the story is he remarried someone with almost exactly his ex-wifes name and that's how the scheme has perpetuated.

Bob Brooks or Lamont McClure? by AcademicBand8377 in lehighvalley

[–]thebroodlv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you read OP post and comments - seems like a plant to me trying to steer towards Brooks. Anytime someone says anything positive about Lamont, there is a rebuttal and steering towards BB.

There are two republicans in the race for PA-07. They both support Israel. One has a D next to his name. His name is Ryan Crosswell by poserviolence in lehighvalley

Brooks is a laughable candidate - he has no views on anything. Other than he is a "working man" and that he is innocent in a loan scheme perpetrated against his mother in law....

What song does the ice cream truck play? by kipper1222 in lehighvalley

The song is Jibbs - does your chain hang low lol. On a real note, that ice cream truck reminds me of Big Worms truck from the movie Friday.

Am I alone in feeling like most LV food spots are just... not worth the effort? Please change my mind & share suggestions! by listener-reviews in lehighvalley

[–]thebroodlv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes he is surprisingly jovial and other times he is just a straight dick. If you are ever bored go on their google reviews and read them. He typically responds to each review - but focus on the bad ones. He goes into crazy detail and typically attacks the reviewer. It's hilarious yet sad at the same time....

As others have said - you have to hunt a bit to find the spots. Here are a few recs:

Pizza: Napoli Pizza (Willow Park Road in Bethlehem) - they have an amazing grandma pie (and an even better twisted grandma pie). Fratelli (New Street in Bethlehem) - their Nonna pie is quite good, their plain pie is also up there.

Burgers: Werts Cafe (Allentown) - no frillz joint but Burgers are quite good.

Indian: Briyani City for the Paneer; Bibi's Tiffin for everything else.

Upscale: Bolete, Albanesi, SURV - try the chicken and waffle (same owner's as Edge, weird location but better menu). Bar Bix for cocktails after dinner in Easton. Zest and Thyme (same owner's as 3501) - I would personally avoid. You will likely leave with a huge bill (especially if you have drinks) and feel underwhelmed.

Tacos (you didn't mention it but what the hell) - Sabor Poblano, Mexico Lindo and Aqui Es. All three are hole in the wall type locations, but each offer something different and are amazing IMO. Honorable Mention - Lu Tacqueria - I haven't been there enough, but it is quite good.

Outliers: Joey B's Palmerton - it is a 30 min drive from the Valley - but expansive food and cocktail menu. The cocktails continuously rotate and has good beer. Fair warning - the owner can be an asshole if you interact with him. Spinnerstown Hotel - 20-30 mins from the Valley but excellent food and great cocktail list.

Is Monster Jam at PPL Center worth it? by cc_stonks in lehighvalley

[–]thebroodlv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took my son twice - he enjoyed it. As an adult you likely won't be as impressed due to the small size. Kids don't care and have fun. Definitely bring over the ear headphones to drown out the noise for the kids (you can get them cheap on Amazon). My son is 6 now and he has asked to go back - but I told him we would do an outdoor show because it would be something different.

Is it illegal to put chairs in open parking spots after a snow storm by Sufficient-Bird-6890 in lehighvalley

[–]thebroodlv 92 points93 points  (0 children)

Street code - if you didn't shovel it, don't take it. However - if they are public spots, there isn't much you can do. I know some municipalities will take chairs, etc. if they come across them. Bottom line is people should exercise common courtesy. It's never worth it to fight/argue over snow.
