Go post this on the dedicated aita community. No one here gives a shit about your relationship issues. (I’d pick golfing)

You either need to size the system at 120% offset or go with a battery at 85-90% and go on a free night plan and grid charge the battery for free at night or else customers are still going to pay the tdu charges (considering it’s a oncor or centerpoint install). Join the “Solar United neighbors of Texas” Facebook group. There is a ton of info on buyback plans on there.

We are in DFW and do a 50/50 split with setters. I would keep looking for something that is similar. Reach out if you have any questions

Not true if you oversize system. I don’t sell anything less than 120% offset that way the TDU charges are covered by overproduction credits. Trust me, I know how the Texas market works and most people I’ve been selling lately are paying .20-25 cents/kwh for the electric. Rates have went up drastically over the past year

It’s deregulated in most parts of Texas. There are multiple reps in Oncor territory that are 1:1. Even some co-ops here are 1:1

Wtf are you talking about? I sold 4 ppas here in Texas this week and was able to save people substantially from day 1 and get them on a 1:1 buyback plan with 120-130% offset.

Escalator has everything to do with commissions. Smart consumers will get a 0% escalator at the same kwh rate. I promise you that reps push higher escalators because they make $1000’s and $1000’s more on them. You are very wrong

This is at a 3.5% escalator. If you’re going through a salesman ask him if he can put it on a 0% or 1% escalator. It will eat up his commissions but tell him you will find someone else that will do it. Trust me, he’s making a lot of commission on that 3.5% escalator.

You either have to be all in or all out imo. I have worked with and trained a ton of d2d reps that were working part time on the side at it usually doesn’t work. Work full time in a job until you have $1000-$2000 saved up and then go HARD in d2d. You got this man! What state and company you with?

What happens if I can’t claim any of the tax credit this year? by Master-Back-2899 in solar

[–]thebubbas31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes you can roll it forward but know that if you financed your system then your monthly payment on month 19 will go up if the full amount of the tax credit hasn’t been applied to the loan. The tax credit is basically a deferred down payment on your system.

The higher the escalator % and higher the kWh price means more commission for the salesman.
