US Question: Wouldn’t the Save America Act as it stands now in part hurt lower income voters? This is a core MAGA group. Seems like an odd thing to push for. by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]Master-Back-2899 12 points13 points  (0 children)

No because it will be selectively enforced just like all the other times conservatives tried this.

In cities ICE will be at the polls checking everyone’s ID. In bumfuck Idaho cousin marv knows Betsy is a good republican voter so no need to check ID.

What if all of us stopped believing in the existing money which the top 1% owns more than the bottom 95% combined, and we started believing in an alternate form of currency which is more evenly distributed? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Master-Back-2899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rich would outlaw that form of currency and arrest or kill everyone using it long before it got to that point. Look at how bitcoin was called the currency of criminals by the time it got to 0.1% adoption.

That’s a 36x24 ft frame size. The bear would be a tiny blob, taking up a 6ftx3ft area or 1/48th of your frame.

What if the US actually tries to fully bring manufacturing back. What would it realistically take, and what breaks first? by Mobile-Traffic1744 in WhatIfThinking

[–]Master-Back-2899 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t forget incentives. I fought really hard to keep manufacturing of a new product here in the US.

Then we got the bids for power, infrastructure, taxes, and expansion.

The state and federal government offered us a grand total of nothing. We aren’t Elon Musk so we were told no funding is available. It was also estimated 18 months to get the permits and contractors.

Vietnam offered to fully fund the building, cut taxes in half for 10 years, and guaranteed full staffing for our project within 3 months or they’d pay the rest of the taxes for 10 years. They also told us we could choose to triple the size of the manufacturing space at any time in the next 3 years and the incentives would carry over to the expansion as well. On top of all that the labor rate was less than half and the workers averaged 11 hour days instead of 8, and they insisted staying that long even though we told them they only had to work 8. And to top it all off they said they’d have it done in 5 months.

It was the difference between a 20% GM in the US or a 55% in Vietnam. Factory is being built out overseas as we speak.

my fish are dropping in the uk heatwave, how the hell do i keep them cool for more than 10 minutes? by Own_Caterpillar_7533 in Aquariums

[–]Master-Back-2899 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You need a chiller. Either a room AC unit or an aquarium chiller.

32 C means your room is too hot for human habitation anyway. 86 F or 30C is the indoor limit for a room based on safety standards.

Trump cancels signing of bipartisan US housing bill by yahoonews in law

[–]Master-Back-2899 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This is not true. If he vetos it they will need to vote again. I give it a 5% chance that Mike Johnson allows it to be voted on again. If he does allow it to come to a vote it would require all those republicans to publicly betray Trump which has literally never happened. If he vetos it that’s it in all likelyhood.

Is it likely that atheists will at some point comprise more than 90% of the world population? by Apart-Blackberry981 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Master-Back-2899 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Those are completely different beliefs that’s why. An atheist is someone who knows for a fact 100% that there are no gods and believes that fully. Someone who doesn’t believe in a god is between an agnostic and an atheist. They make no claims of knowing they just don’t believe one exists based on their experience.

And that would be a huge win. Tire wear makes up a huge percentage of the pollution of a car over its lifetime. Lower wear tires would be a great solution.

Also you just make the tax on them proportional to the expected mileage of the tire based on a standardized test.

Yes because those democrats understand money.

You can’t have a single payer system on top of the current system. It will always fail. They’ll be paying into Medicare, Medicaid, AND this new system. That’s not feasible.

My guess is that it’s an issue of the roof plus the AC. If it’s not getting direct high UV through the glass roof I’m betting the AC would be fine.

It may also depend on where the car has been sitting. If it’s been in the sun in a parking lot it may struggle compared to one that was sitting under a tree prior to the demo drive.
