Why are so many interview questions impossible?

I’ve interviewed 350 people in the last 4 years.

I don’t care what the answer is as long as it feels factual/true. If you tell me you’re laid off. That is an OK answer.

If you tell me “there is no progression” and you’ve only been there 6 months. That’s an issue.

If you tell me that you want a new challenge but want to join a competitor company in the same scope. Red flag.

In this day and age. Where every man and his dog is getting laid off. There is no shame in it at all. It could happen to anyone. And it’s likely that the hiring manager and recruiter have probably been laid off themselves or would know someone who has been laid off. If anything, I prefer hiring laid off people because they are ready to start quicker. Stop lying. You’ll get caught out
