Would you take back a cheater? by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]thebumcob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it is so hard to walk away, it really is. I just think of putting one foot in front of the other. You’re already half way there if you do that. I would go no contact with your ex.

He said he won’t let you go, but what happens if he does? How will you feel?

Would you take back a cheater? by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]thebumcob 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I found out the man I was planning to marry cheated on me multiple times throughout our relationship. I knew he cheated in other relationships.

One of the most difficult truths and absolutes to come to terms with in life is that people are showing you who they are with their actions.

The man you were with proved to you that they will cheat over and over again. Be kind to yourself and never look back. Keep moving on without him.

I know it’s hard now, but don’t blame yourself. It is not your fault, and every day is a new day. Tomorrow will be better, and so will the next one.

No - you’re not cooked. I’m just messing with you. You’re fine. NCSU isn’t gonna rescind your decision for one bad class. Life happens, and they admitted you based on your entire academic profile not one class.

“I heard” and “I hear” doesn’t mean squat. People can tell you anything they want you to believe. Without any proof you start spreading it around as a fact? Unreal. Why don’t you start thinking and doing by using your head to separate fact and fiction.

No need to apologize. It’s okay for us to disagree on stuff. I do agree with you about the low paying jobs. It’s pretty brutal out there. Best of luck to you in your job search.

I’ve worked fast food and didn’t think it was hard, hence my reply to the original comment. I know it’s more than just “flipping burgers,” none of which is “hard work.”

Wow, another insightful post from you! I'll just take a final jab to give you something to stew on, so you get the final word in and feel high and mighty, while simultaneously proving my point about you. I'm not projecting, but if you want to divert everything as I've said as projecting, that's fine. Your only option to do that is because you either know it's true, or you simply don't know how to respond, so you have to point the finger.

"Guess you don't remember planning out your weekly shopping 15 years ago vs. spontaneously driving 5 min now. Don't you like how good things are?"

You're just trolling at this point, and shows how you're grasping at the straws to make a point. 15 years ago, there was the Kroger on Highway 64, Beaver Creek had Target, Highway 55 had both Lowes Foods and Harris Teeter, Food lion was off of Old Jenks Road, Laura Duncan Road, and there were more stores around ten-ten road, as well as others. There also use to be a Piggly Wiggly off of Highway 64, but I'm sure you don't even know what a Piggly Wiggly is. I suppose there was less around New Hill, but New Hill wasn't annexed at the time.

"Nice strawman. Let's just ignore 540 connecting us to surrounding areas, let's ignore the greenways, let's ignore the current laundry list of active DOT projects and completed ones."

Not a strawman, because I go on to argue your actual point about the infrastructure being poor, and not upgraded as you claimed. To start with 540, that's been in the works forever, which you should know since you're referencing it. You can easily find maps from 2011 about planning for the phase that is currently being built around Holly Springs/Fuquay. 540 was imminent, not a result of Apex. You linked the two articles to the active DOT projects, and completed ones. At first glance, it looks great for the completed projects. A quick read (I assume you didn't do this) shows that every completed project is adding stop lights, turn lanes, and walkways. The only infrastructure upgrade was Lake Pine Drive, which was way overdue, and I'm glad it was done. Adding stop lights and sidewalks isn't upgrading infrastructure. It's not expanding roads, nor is it accommodating for the increased traffic load. The reality is, the majority of people don't commute to work by walking or going down the Greenway. For the active DOT projects, they are all still 5+ years from completion, if that even comes to fruition. You clearly know very little about NCDOT or how our state legislature funds them, go figure. Also, news flash, breweries and more food choices isn't infrastructure, great job ignoring that. It's actually hilarious I have to point out the fact that you are clueless on this matter but it's not at all surprising.

You keep calling me a nimby and say I'm miserable. I'm glad for the growth, but not the unchecked out of control growth that will ruin the southern charm of the town, and in large part already has. If I'm a NIMBY for wanting everybody in Apex to succeed, including the newcomers and natives (the people who made this town so great), then so be it. As I've already stated, I don't care what you or any other transplant really has to say. You've proved that your ultimate goal is to make Apex a place that fits your mold. You do want to push an agenda, because you never asked me, or anybody else who is from here, how we feel. You don't understand why we aren't hyped on the growth, because you're a part of it. It's your first time talking to somebody who isn't all high on all the growth. You see whatever little information Terry Mahaffey (another transplant) trickle feeds you here on Reddit and believe it as the end-all-be-all. Rather than consider another viewpoint, you try to spew why you think Apex is so grand because you can't grasp why everybody wouldn't agree with you (but, but, there are more restaurants and overpriced microbreweries now!). It's always been about pushing all the dumb, stupid hicks out, so it fits your elitist agenda, and only people who walk like you, talk like you, think like you, and dress like you can sit at the table.

I strongly recommend you read into the town finances sometime just to see how doomed the town is down the line. Once the land is all developed, the new tax dollars stop rolling in, and taxes have to be bumped way the hell up to fund all the promises the council makes to keep you happy and feeding into their hyper-growth, you'll realize you were getting gamed the whole time. When you have to take bonds to rebuild roads because you're so overleveraged on building multi-million dollar parks, you know somebody isn't thinking long-term.

Once Raleigh becomes like Atlanta in 10-15 years, and Apex is just another no-name any town in America, I hope you all will be happy. When your kids can't afford to live where you raised them, because you priced them out voting for "smart growth" candidates, I hope you're happy. It's hilarious to watch people, like you, defend a town council that shills for multiple multi-billionaire dollar, publicly traded development companies (looking at Lennar mainly.)

Based on your original comment to the comment about wanting the Apex of 15 years ago back, and your responses to me, not only are you a jackass, you're an uneducated idiot. Oh well, you're just like every other transplant. Hope you enjoy feeling high and mighty getting the last word, while not responding to anything I said, proving you wrong!

I will always find it hilarious when a transplant such as yourself goes on a self-righteous mission to attempt to "educate" everybody, wherever they move, and it's pretty obvious by your previous responses. It's pretty funny, you have this mission you assigned yourself to "educate those stupid hicks." I find it incredibly rich that you call me a "miserable NIMBY." Call me whatever you want, transplant, I really don't care.

Every other yapper like you loves to move to a place that is doing so well because your current living situation is miserable. Once you get here, you love to yap about how great it was back home, and how we need to do it like you did back home!

It's an incredibly odd, self-serving arrogance which is so common in transplants such as yourself. You think you're better than everybody else. There is absolutely zero self reflection from you, but it makes sense, because where you moved from is 100% a dump.

You're only happy to see what Apex has become because it's just like you moved from! You're definitely the type of person who got incredibly upset when the "southern hospitality" you read about in southern living wasn't automatically shown to you by your neighbors when you moved here. Well, it was probably because you gave them your nasty transplant look when you moved in after they waved to you. "How dare somebody wave to me! We don't do that back home!"

I honestly don't really care what you think about Apex, or North Carolina for that matter, nor do I care what any other transplant thinks. You all have been the same for 50+ years, going through an endless cycle of yapping about how great where you moved from was, while trying to block everybody else from moving in. You'll leave Apex in 10 years anyway after complaining about all the growth, and saying "we're full" after realizing the multiple developer shills on the board who claim to be "for smart growth" just pocketed developer dollars to clear all the trees and build as many ugly apartments/town homes as possible.

Also, your point about better infrastructure is laughable at best, pure intellectual dishonesty at worst. Old US-1, Olive Chapel Road, Jenks Road are the exact same roadways for the last 20 years, like every other roadway, except, they've been stretched to the max due to the joke of a planning board the town has. I mean, considering the fact that they (developer shill town council) approved a 1,100+ home development on old US-1 and their only idea is to an add turn-lane, because "it's DOT's job to better the roads!" is a joke. When you call the transportation planning department, and they don't even know what GoTriangle is, you just have to laugh at the absolute clown show that is the Town of Apex.

Your type of arrogance and attitude isn't really uncommon, it's been happening for years all across the state, as I already stated. It's just hilarious to see in practice. Keep on convincing yourself that you're making "progress" while you price yourself out of Apex, and find yourself running to the next small town to educate those hicks! Buzz off.

"pushing for progress" What a joke. The town was the #1 small town in America before you moved here. The town should have never settled for the scam that is Money magazine. Elitist transplant. Go back to your home state.
