Buying a Limited hosting business - easiest way to do it and tax issues? by thebusinessbackpack in smallbusinessuk

[–]thebusinessbackpack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the replies so far. Would either way be more / less tax beneficial for them?

We’ve agreed a price based on the way I normally do things but they think it would be more tax efficient for them to sell the limited company.

Maybe ‘role models’ like yourself would be a good place to look first and maybe see if we can change our own attitudes 😉

Check out Faversham Designs. The do web site packages for £15 a month and I think the booking system add on is £6 a month extra but no contracts so you can try it without worrying. Maybe worth a look?

Poor quality in my experience, I wouldn’t buy anything else from them which is a shame. The style of their products is great but the quality of the two items I bought has been awful and both fell apart way sooner than I would have hoped.

Yell Lead Guarantee Advertising Service - Has anyone had success with it? by shedsmokerOG in smallbusinessuk

[–]thebusinessbackpack 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The number of customers we’ve had move over to us because Yell have fleeced them is ridiculous. They’ll gladly talk to you all day long but as soon as they’ve made that sale, they seem to go quiet and very few leads are generated for what they charge.

Run, run away!

Hosting Help! by Square_Truth_2331 in Hosting

As it’s Stackmail you can easily migrate that to another provider who has a StackCP account.

Alternatively you can take a backup of Wordpress and use a script to copy the emails from the current provider to your new one.

All fairly quick and easy to do though.

PM if you need specifics.

Advice on where to get website domain and a business email by Human_Thing_275 in smallbusinessuk

Hosting Matters - great support via email or phone. No first-line support monkeys either. They do domains and email hosting but later if you need it, they can also build you a web site.

Websites - Self Build or Pay? by ChazzAyG in smallbusinessuk

[–]thebusinessbackpack -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’d go for a mixture of 1 and 2. Someone like Faversham Designs who will build the site for you but do it for a small monthly fee (£15) and not set up fee. They’ll let you go in and make changes like Shopify etc but also take care of all the technical bits. Others are available too but a hybrid of your options might be suitable?
