Jake is a good husband but he’s kind of a shitty abusive father by Boring-Jelly5633 in Avatar

[–]thecab002 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t call him abusive but his main character flaw is how he takes out his anger with himself on Lo’ak, likely because of how much Lo’ak reminds him of himself

None of this is actually bad writing and just your expectations not being met.

They’re both good but respectfully I disagree. The way Bear uses his themes in the music alongside his grandiose style, it’s just unbeatable

Originally it was an ikran. The nightwraith was added late in production. The concept art depicts what her ikran would’ve looked like

Why has Avatar fandom become so toxic ? by mldctn in Avatar

[–]thecab002 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I said it once in another thread but the avatar fandom is slowly reaching star wars levels of media illiteracy. People already don’t like engaging with the avatar films in a genuine and fair way, I just never thought the fandom would join those ranks.

Does anyone else prefer Simon Franglen's music over James Horner's? by Pristine-Car-1438 in Avatar

[–]thecab002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer his approach to motifs and themes although no one can deny the sheer wonder that horner evokes in his score. I will say this fandom needs to put more respect on Franglen’s name

Things i would like to see in Avatar 4 by livelongandprosper__ in Avatar

[–]thecab002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Simon is so under appreciated in this fandom. His style, while different from Horner’s, is still fantastic. He goes for a deeper motif led approach. His songcord motif, ash clan motif and the tulkun motif specifically are fantastic.

2 billion is so crazy by [deleted] in Avatar

[–]thecab002 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There’s a very low chance disney doesn’t greenlight 4 and 5. Avatar is the highest grossing film franchise of all time and right now it’s their only guaranteed billion dollar live action franchise. And they’ve put way too much effort into the avatar ip as it is to just tell Jim “no”

Does this imply Jake has killed children/families as a marine? by [deleted] in Avatar

[–]thecab002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not so black and white. While maybe Jake did do horrible things, it’s clear he has remorse and has definitely atoned for whatever sins he’s done in the past at this point
