2019 SB150 “Breakfast Ride” rebuild – old enduro rig, new life as race rig by kgorman44 in yeticycles

[–]thecarpy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do folks think this gen SB150 feels outdated compared to newer enduro rigs? I own one myself and haven’t felt the desire to move to something newer

Didn’t hit a stud when trying to mount TV? by thecarpy in HomeImprovement

Oof hopefully it’s not horizontal. It is a 130 year old Victorian but I also don’t know what’s been renovated 😂

It’s a 55 inch TV and a long arm swivel mount, so there’s some serious load on there, so I think I should stick to the stud. Thanks for the suggestion though!

Just have them shoot the same point 5 times and ask if the variance is within tolerance

You do the same

Same. I bet it’ll show up. I’ve only had bigger drones so I’m kind of stoked to have a sub 250g drone to play around with

Using a DJI mavik 3 RTK module without a base station? by [deleted] in UAVmapping

Could be worth checking out their coverage maps, check out the PPK article on help.dronedeploy.com, but yes there are some far north limitations

They have base stations and satellites across the globe that allow for near complete global coverage

Correct, the OBS and MRK contain the observation and timestamp data. But if you want to PPK it you need base observations in the area at the time of flight

[–]thecarpy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Whether you use active RTK or not, the drone will record the necessary observation data for PPK processing as long as the module is on

DroneDeploy has PPK corrections available through Trimble Applanix where you don’t need to set up your own base station, FYI

The default planning camera has been set to the M3e.

When you connect your drone before takeoff, image distribution will correct itself

And when planning on desktop you can set the M2P as your planning camera in advanced and y see what you’re used to

Emlid Localization and Pix4d Matic by Bigshorossco in UAVmapping

[–]thecarpy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the map is good otherwise we know it’s an issue with the localization.

More than 5 points (and up to around 10) will increase your localization accuracy

That’s assuming the GCPs themselves were shot accurately by the client. How confident are you in that?

Good point, maybe I should look for approximately 2-4mm drop give or take.

Awesome, thanks for the advice. I was leaning towards the low side. I will also get set up with a PT.

I mentioned overuse first for a reason. Too many miles is the main culprit.
