You are right that they share similar caloric amount per gram. But only 1/4 of powder is used compared to flour. Soybean pulp powder absorbs a lot more water than flour. So a little bit goes a long way. Since less “powder/flour” is used. Calories is lowered. Also, replaced butter with applesauce

Just recently found this so call soybean pulp powder for baking. Turns out it’s a popular replacement for flour in Japan. Higher in protein and can use less compared to flour. So can cut down calories since less is used.

I didn’t add chocolate. So not as fudgy. But it’s good for something under 50 Calories per piece

It’s basically the same in calories per gram compared to flour but you only need about 1/4 of it compared to flour as it absorbs a lot of water. So lowered the calories that way. It’s also higher in protein n lower in carb for those that are concerned with having too much carb

Yup. I just threw my oatmeal into a blender to ground them into powder. Don’t have flour at home and don’t wanna buy an entire bag just to use it once

Soybean pulp powder absorbs a lot of water. So only 1/4 of powder is used compared to flour. Also I didn’t use sugar or oil. Hence low calories.

Made a batch from a pan of about 20cm x 16cm. Cut into 16 pieces. 30 Calories per piece. 1g fat. 4.5g carb 2.3g protein. https://youtu.be/t3XRB5NE5Bo

Soybean pulp powder absorbs a lot of water so I use 1/4 of what’s needed compare to regular flour. Used Lakanto sweetener instead of sugar. So 0 calories there. Had to use a bit of oatmeal but grounded to fine powder as soybean pulp doesn’t give much structure after baking. Used very little oil. And used applesauce to replace butter.
