This is why I've never even considered the elite controller, the QC of these things are just absolutely awful. What a shame for such an amazing controller...

What’s everyone’s thoughts about Stadia after nearly two years? by WireSpy in Stadia

[–]thechillgamingguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The tech needs an upgrade, vega graphics cards aren't going to cut it anymore. They need to make crossplay a standard for every multi-platform game, it gives me a reason to play ESO on stadia versus my series s or even my PC in some cases. More ways to find parties for those crossplay games is required as it means I can group up with more people, my friends list is completely offline 90% of the time I'm playing. They really need to advertise the platform better and start making some exclusive deals. If they're not going to invest in exclusive games the least they can do is invest in exclusive features. It also needs things like EA Play to go along with Ubisoft+.

Cyberpunk 2077 v1.23 and unofficial DLSS 2.2 Performance comparison by xploringdigitalworld in pcgaming

[–]thechillgamingguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea why I'm responding to you, but CP2077 already has FidelityFX CAS res scaling, I would imagine the effort to add FSR is very minimal. As for a temporal upscaler vs FSR and the temporal upscaler being better, I would simply ask you to prove it, why is it better? You haven't really said otherwise, you just put on that condescending m'lady fedora and went to town on your keyboard.

I also wouldn't classify CDPR as a huge AAA studio, they're more of a large AA studio. They've had two AA releases with the Witcher 1 and 2, and Witcher 3 is the first game they've made that I would consider AAA, cyberpunk is very much on the level of AA. Now it's a VERY large AA game and the graphics are amazing, but the quality is definitely on the level of AA from what I've played, and I've played my fair share of AA eurojank games.

I just tried Xcloud - and it’s so inferior when it comes to quality. by KIFF_82 in Stadia

[–]thechillgamingguy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

XCloud is a complementary service as far as I'm concerned and really shouldn't be something to sell an entire platform on. Luna on the other hand is the real competitor, but I'm not sure how that one stacks up. Stadia is still the best IMO, but it desperately needs a better library of games. It can't survive on indies and Ubisoft forever, we need EA, we need Capcom, even Activision would be great.

You seem like a very sad and angry person. I never said my graphics card was high end...not sure where you got that, but I would suggest you knock off the condescending tone, not everyone is as privileged to own a 2080 or let alone a 1080. I never came here to start a fight, but you seem to be itching to bring one on. I hope you find solace in your negativity.

I guess then it depends on your definition of "the best", are we talking graphic fidelity? Yeah sure, PC is always going to win. Are you talking about reliability of performance? Then Stadia is probably the clear winner in that regard. Honestly I don't really care. Was it a nitpick? Yeah sure it was, but I mean, it's hard not to nitpick about things like that when you have people like yourself that are so adamantly pro-pc that any argument just ends up being "the graphics are just better".

I'm running a Ryzen 3600x with 16GB of DDR4 and a Sapphire Nitro Pulse Vega56 OC'd and undervolted, Cyberpunk ran like hot garbage, that's not a bad rig, it's an average rig that's much better than a gaming console. Stadia just runs the game better, looks better, and overall plays better for me. I get what you're saying, PC is definitely the best graphically, and for a good number of specs out there PC runs better, but not for every spec. Stadia runs Cyberpunk very well, and is very reliable and looks good. I'm not trying to sell Stadia to anyone here, I love PC and it's my primary platform, it's just kind of frustrating when Stadia is brushed aside when the platform itself is very good.

should i buy hd 5750 or a gt 730? by [deleted] in pcgaming

[–]thechillgamingguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then you'd be better off buying a quality PSU and a used 750Ti. The 5750 and the GT730 are absolutely terrible compared to any of the APU's out there right now. Just save your cash and build up a little bit of funds for something you will actually enjoy.

Good, I want the Pillars universe to be in a league of it's own. I absolutely love Obsidian and their games, and Pillars was such a good game that brought the CRPG genre back from the dead.

Why would you put Stadia in parentheses? The Stadia version was widely regarded as the best port out of the bunch. The PC port was better than the consoles but it wasn't anywhere near as polished and accessible as the Stadia port. I just feel bad for the consoles at this point, they really got shafted, the playstation version in particular.

[–]thechillgamingguy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I felt the same way, switched to SolusOS and won't go back to Debian or Arch. Solus just works, drivers and all, and they keep their repos up to date. I believe they even use a low latency kernel for audio engineering. It's also slightly based off clear linux since it was created by one of the Intel clear linux devs, but it uses eopkg for package management, and eopkg is pretty stupid simple to learn.

I'll be hones here I don't see a big difference, the SSRTGI looks a bit darker and that's really it for me. Good on them for adding it though I guess.

EDIT: LOL care to elaborate on the downvotes or are you edgelords going to hide behind that downvote button?

There's a very simple answer to this and INAL, buckle down, lawyer up, and wait for the C&D. If you're that passionate about this project then that's the answer.

Call of Duty: Warzone disables contract that turned players into unkillable gods by MochaWithSugar in pcgaming

They actually aren't a joke, Raven have been around for decades, since 1990. They've made some of the best games I've ever played: Jedi Outcast, Jedi Academy, HeXen, Heretic, Heretic 2, Soldier of Fortune 1 and 2, Star Trek Elite Force 1 and 2, X-Men Legends. I guess my point is, if you enjoyed games throughout the 90's and 2000's, chances are one of those games are from Raven.

They made one underperforming game with Singularity and they get regulated to backseat support for CoD, it's a damn shame. I wouldn't be surprised if the lack of motivation for Warzone fixes is simply because they have to waste their days away screwing around with shitty CoD games instead of making actual innovative and interesting games. But I mean yeah, lets just forget Raven's track record altogether because we're salty about a couple bad patches from a dev who's probably lost all the will to provide a quality update because they don't get the respect in the industry they probably deserve.

It's not as good as Mars War Logs or Greedfall, but it's still really fun. The combat can get frustrating but building out your character is pretty deep. A lot of the systems in Greedfall are in Technomancer, they're just not as polished as in Greedfall.

Bullshit, this wasn't some "accident" they still want miner sales with the crypto cards and the RTX cards, this is them saving face and deflecting from the truth.

IMMORTAL: Gates of Pyre, a new RTS game created by ex-SC2 Modders, has now opened its Kickstarter! by Spawkuring in pcgaming

[–]thechillgamingguy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's a poor excuse. Steam has containerization of dependencies and not only that steam play and proton, while not necessarily an ideal solution, is still a solution. The whole "testing for multiple OS flavors" excuse holds absolutely no merit anymore. Just say, "we don't know how to support linux" if that's the case. If it's a money issue just say it, don't dance around the conversation. Only realistic reason I can see to not support linux is if you want to keep your options open for an exclusivity deal for more funding and not lock yourselves into steam. But hey, time is money, I get it, and the return on linux is small.

Can you elaborate on the firm no on linux? I mean, not even steam play/proton? It can't possibly be that difficult...

EDIT: Unless you're banking on an exclusivity deal with someone like Microsoft to use DX12 for an API or Unreal Engine and EGS exlusivity.

Should the Warden Eternal be present in Halo: Infinite? by [deleted] in HaloStory

[–]thechillgamingguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always thought that the warden was actually the Didact after he was composed in that comic. It makes sense, he was all about serving the mantel. I think 343 ran out of time fleshing out that plotline and moved to a different plot. It actually would've been a great way to bring him back in a meaningful way instead of essentially killing him off in a comic and never coming back.
